Liked: Mike is very helpful and friendly - he showed me around and took me for drinks as soon as I got there. It is less than five minutes walk to the Old Town, and the swimming pool is much appreciated. The bathroom is high standard and clean.
Disliked: The only thing lacking is the 'hostel' atmosphere - unsurprising since it is a private house and not a hostel! There is a lack of youth hostels in Mostar, so it is not the end of the world.

Liked: I stayed in the owner's home (Mediterranean villa with pool, since there are 2 properties advertised on this site) which he shares with his two teenage sons, Dino and Dins and their beautiful Hungarian retriever, Luna. it was an unexpected surprise, a little like "home-stay," and brought with it cultural advantages, since Emil, the owner, knows many local Bosnian restaurants and the boys are experts on the night life and cafe scene. You are really brought right into this family and share the facilities with them (including the single bathroom). It is a bit like a bachelor pad, and would be a very cool setup for young (male) backpackers. Unlike most hostels in Mostar, this one really is a short five minutes walk from the Old Town and the famous bridge. Very conveniently located and the pool is a big plus! The other building advertised on the site is more of a conventional style hostel and is located closer to the bus station.
Disliked: The beautiful dog, Luna, was a bit of a challenge, since she takes a while to get used to guests. But Emil ties her up, so she does not come running after you. A very sweet creature, loving, affectionate, but wary of strangers. I would have liked more time to get to know her better, likewise with Emil's two healthy, wholesome sons, who seem remarkably mature for their age (15 & 16). I would stay here again if I came through Mostar, since it now feels like "Home."
