BY BUS: There're loads of different bus lines (=flotas) going to La Paz (on the way calling at Oruro and El Alto), Cochabamba (frequently written in it's short form, CBBA), Santa Cruz de la Sierra and to the Argentinian border at Villazon / La Quiaca. These busses leave in the evening from about 5pm to 8pm, and arrive in the morning.
Small busses to Potosí leave during the daytime each 2 hours or so and take about 3 hours.
All buses arrive at the terminal; from there you get to the center by micro (small local busses). Just wave to stop one going to the Mercado Central (= central market) and pay 1.50 Bolivianos to the driver. From Mercado Central just walk up Aniceto Arce straight on for two blocks until reaching Plaza 25 de Mayo, the central square. Take a right, follow the street for two blocks and turn left into Loa. We're house #743.
Alternatively you can take a taxi; the price is 4 Bolivianos per person during daytime.
FLYING: Sucre boasts one of the most impressive airports worldwide. Joke. It has one gate, and is pretty tiny... But nevertheless, there're relatively cheap flights daily to Cochabamba, La Paz and Santa Cruz, depending upon the season starting from 50$. Companies flying here are Aerosur, TAM(Transporte Aero Militar, it's not the same as the Brazilian TAM) and BoA. TAM is also going to Tarija and Cobija twice a week.
From the airport you can take a micro to the city center (1.50 Bolivianos per person), or a taxi (30 Bolivianos for the whole car).
