Liked: Great place for a day or two as they have no running water. The people running are really nice.

Disliked: It's nearly the only one to find on internet, but there are a lot more, which are cheaper and even better.

Liked: beautifull view from the room, good breakfast for additional 25 Bs,

Disliked: Not really hot water Leaving the hostel, my girlfriend fall in the firsts stairs outside and broke her feeth. The owner was not in the hostel at this moment so i don't speak for him because he was quiet helpfull but the girl working at this moment didn't help us to find a way to bring her downhill!!! She just repeat me that she has to be more carrefull!! Thanks god a speak fluent spanish and i could find some people but for me it looks normal in a little community like this that she could help us !!

Liked: It's a genuine place: rustic, quiet, peaceful, without sophistication. The scenery we saw from the window of our room was lovely and the food prepared by Marcela was wonderful and very cheap (We paid $ 10 and ate trout, potatos, rice, salad and beer for two people)!

Disliked: The Inca's Stair to the place is terrible, but is the way to reach all the other hostels!

Liked: The beds were warm and comfortable.

Disliked: They want to squeeze every soles out of you. When we got back from hiking and the electricity was out, They would not even loan us a candle or torch to get into out room and retrieve our own lights. They were willing to sell us a candle.

Liked: Its charm

Disliked: It didnt appear that the lady in charge knew about our booking - no computers or anything to check, but it is Isla del Sol in Bolivia we´re talking about! But all worked out ok.

Liked: Not much to like after the hassle we had...

Disliked: Rooms don't shut propery, you have to pay to cook or have hot water for a tea, staff really anoying, and defenetly you don't have to book these rooms...just see if they are free via hostelbookers or-world and go by you will pay half the price!!!!!

Liked: The view was great! Not too far from the Inka steps, nice location.

Disliked: I disliked the bathrooms, there were only 2 bathrooms, and only 1 "working" shower, by that no water pressure what so ever, I waited to get back to La Paz to shower...

Liked: beds were comfy and the walk-in price is good. clean and welcoming.

Disliked: i paid 50% more by booking in advance than if i just turned up, and there waas plently of room. when i settled the bill the old lady running the place could not understand that i had paid my deposit through hostelbookes and thus this should be dedutced form the bill. she added an extra charge for no reason and simply used the excuse that it was "only 1 Boliviano" - yes but it was My Boliviano not hers! Breakfast (extra) is only i piece of bread - she tried to charge extra for 1 more piece. windows dont lock so security a slight issue. For an HI hostel i was a bit disappointed.

Liked: Good location, one of the first hostels at the top of the Inca steps from the port, you will be glad!! View from windows was fantastic, Lady who ran the place was helpful

Disliked: Lady who ran the hostel spoke no English, despite it being an HI Hostel, where I think they have to? Breakfast not included and expensive for Bolivia

Liked: the lady who ran the hostel was very friendly and helpful. great views from the dorm too

Disliked: hostel was quiet, did not get to meet anyone. also no running water. although this did mean a wash in the lake which was cool

Liked: Most beautifull place we have been so far. The Lady was really helpfull when I got sick. She made me medicine with herps from her garden ;-)

Liked: The staff was really helpful... but the first night 1 1/2 hours to get dinner... then the second night 2 1/2 hours to get dinner. The food was great, but I don't understand the wait. They must have used a match stick to cook each grain of rice!From, Very Hungry

Liked: the lady running the hostel reqally tries to make your stay enjoyable. located at the top of the mountain but close to many restaurants lovely view from the bedroom

Liked: Not quite at the top of the hill but still had great views. All the hostels on the island are basic but we had hot showers here and a good breakfast (extra cost). There are pleanty of others though but we were happy with it. You can´t get a HI discount though unless you book it in La Paz.

Liked: The location and character of the hostel are its biggest selling points. The owner was lovely and the breakfast was good and the rooms were quite cheap. However, there is no electricity or running water so the facilities aren't as good as you would expect elsewhere but it is these aspects which make the hostel what it is. The whole island doesn't have running water or electricity so only go if you're prepared for this!
