Hedera started a hundred years ago as a small farm, as almost every man in Herne, with his cattle, only ten cows, a few pigs and the land and in the garden growing some vegetables and fruit, was a farmer at that time.

Times have changed now and most of these small farms have been turned into the lovely family homes, respecting traditional architecture.
This is the story of Hedera, where we'd like to share the peaceful Pajottenland with you, so you can enjoy this typical region, that inspired Bruegel, with us.
The regions of Pajottenland and the Flemish Ardennes offer you a unique opportunity to enjoy their magnificent landscape.
Lots of biking tours (50 km, more or less) are waiting for you and we will be happy to help you choose.
We have best quality bikes available for you (mountainbike or citybike).
But even so if you prefer to go for a walk, we can guide you to choose for 1 day or half day walking maps.
The charming and historical towns such as Edingen (at 5 km), Geraardsbergen, Ninove and Halle, (at 15 km) are really worth visiting.
For a bigger 1-day trip Brussels, Ghent, Antwerp, Bruges and Leuven are interesting because of their artistic and cultural history.
Because HEDERA is located at walking distance from the railway station, you can easily visit all these towns by train.
