Liked: Wonderful atmosphere - super friendly and helpful owner - cosy and clean room - free tea/coffee - breakfast is worth the price - city centre easily to reach (10min walk) - That place has character!

Disliked: Nils left no negative feedback.

Liked: It is unique. The host was extremely nice and very helpful.

Disliked: The heat in our room did not work and it was very cold and damp out during our stay. This made it uncomfortable when in the room.

Liked: We liked the quirkiness, very friendly and helpful gentleman owner, suprising amount of space but still felt homely and cosy. The terrace will be lovely in the summer time.

Disliked: Not a 'dislike', but ensure you get detailed directions to the location, as it's a little hard to find from the main road.

Liked: This is the best hostel I have ever stayed in. It was fun, the owners were lovely and really friendly and interesting to hang out with, full of character being on a boat and really well located

Liked: It was on a boat, which was fun, and the location was pretty convenient for the centre of Gent (10 min walk). The welcome couldn't have been friendlier.

Disliked: I didn't dislike anything. Some people might mind that you couldn't lock the rooms, but this didn't bother us.

Liked: Staying on a boat and having it to ourselves. Easy to find.

Liked: Staying on a house boat was quite cool. The boat was a short walk from the old centre, which was good.

Disliked: Because it is on the river, it is a little bit dark and isolated when walking back at night. I would not walk back alone, you should make sure you are with someone.

Liked: It was easily the best place we stayed in our travels in Belgium booking through Hostelbookers. Quirky style of accomodation, very homely vibe so we felt very welcomed as guests rather than business. We were 3 23-year olds from NZ, comfortable room with private ensuite. The best part is the living space and the deck - because there is only room for a limited number of people, there is plenty of space to relax or enjoy a beer on the deck. The owners are great people.

Disliked: It is situated in the docklands, so requires a short walk to the centre. Having said this, it's close to supermarkets and the Dampoort station.

Liked: Don´t let the location of the boat put you off; the centre of town is only 10 minutes walk away and the boat is fantastic. Well furnished and warm.

Disliked: It is a bit of a hike from the Gent Dampoort train station, along a canal bank with traffic to content with.

Liked: verry familar, loved the owners, I arrived verry late (after 12 in the night) and she took her time and offered me tea or coffee (and she organized green tea for me), the rooms are realy lovely and the beds are verry comfortable! And also, I mean it's a boat but you had your own bathroom.

Disliked: it's not in a verry charming area, but I would still rcomend it!

Liked: It's a barge! Very cool new experience for us. Overall, it was close to the city center (about 10 minutes walking), and allowed us to see the outside of the city as well as the inside. The area looks sketchy at first, but really doesn't appear to be so (we've come home late with absolutely no issues)

Disliked: It was difficult to get a hold of the owners when we first came in, which ended with us sitting by the door for about 30 mins. After that though, everything got sorted out and we were on our way.

Liked: This was a beautiful place to stay! The rooms are extremely well-kept and very well-decorated, not to mention big, comfortable, and clean. The proprietors are very friendly, laid-back, and eager to help you enjoy Ghent, whether you want to see the sights or go out and party. The breakfast was excellent as well, lots of variety and of high quality and freshness.

Disliked: Nothing at all!

Liked: Most charming hosts, you stay on a ship and can touch the water from yout cabin´s bulleye. Thumbs up.

Disliked: It´s not exactly close to the city center, but therefor you´re not exactly close to the city center.

Liked: friendly owner and the rooms were cozy and clean. The boat is bigger than you think! The breakfast is extra but well put together. The owner went above and beyond to help us in terrible weather.

Liked: Despite the outdoor location (industrial district), spending some days in a house-boat has been a very exciting and romantic experience.The boat has been completely renovated and each room has a private, comfortable and clean bathroom.We met Erica which is extremely friendly (she offered us a cup of tea at our arrival) and gave some useful tips and plans to visit Ghent and Bruges.If you want to chit-chat a bit with other hosts, or you want to relax and listen music, reading a book or maybe play guitar, you can stay in the living room and just feel like home.You can park the car just in front of the boat and leave it there for all your stay. Inner city is just 15 minutes walk.

Disliked: The district it is not that nice and you can feel a bit baffled at your arrival. However, the place is safe and not far from the city center. Apparently there is a renovation plan for the district and in the coming years it will be much better! However, especially if you are a young couple, go there and enjoy the atmosphere!

Liked: Nicely decorated and original idea. Great terrace for the summer time. Staff very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was abundant and good value for money, although perhaps it should have been included on the price. Room was comfy and toilet very clean to a high hotel standard.

Disliked: Area not great, although still 10-15 min walk from central Ghent. Busy road nearby the quay which makes the crossing a bit of an stress, but other than that fine. We believe the area is safe although might not look like it when you arrive. Extractor from room nearby was kept on and therefore room was slightly noisy at night.
