Liked: Absolutely amazing place to stay. There's not many places you can go and stay in an old monastery, such a different experience. Even with this being an older building, the facilities were really clean, rooms simple but really comfortable, and the environment was really lovely. The staff were really friendly and helpful.

Disliked: Its an older building, so the floorboards do squeak, and you might have to walk a bit to get to the shared bathroom. I slept with earplugs, and it was fine.

Liked: Absolutely beautiful. Aesthetically, this place is loaded with character and is a phenomenal place to stay if you appreciate architecture and authenticity. Extremely clean facilities and lots of extras that spoiled this jaded backpacker. The staff was incredibly helpful at providing directions to things (and comfortably switched between English, French and Dutch). This place was well worth the indulgence for a night after weeks of less impressive accommodations.

Disliked: It was quite expensive - but understandably so. This is a hotel before it's a hostel, so you probably won't meet anyone staying here.

Liked: The location of the GuestHouse is perfect. There are bars, pubs, restaurants, shops and markets close by. As well there is a good connection with the public transport.

Disliked: In the morning there was long queue for the toilet and shower. I do not recommend using them from 8-9h in the morning. And they charge additional 2.5 EUR as a city tax/daily upon your arrival.

Liked: I really liked the atmosphere of this property, the building itself is so special and great. I also liked that the staff acted so professional, they were really kind. I would surely recommend this place to other travelers. On the top of this, this was the only place in Ghent I could find with single rooms for an affordable price.

Disliked: I think that the furniture in the room is quite old and used but the bed was clean, and this is the most important factor to me.

Liked: The place used to be a Monastery, the building is incredible and the atmosphere is great. Is not the place to meet other travellers but instead is more of a experience, a very good one. The staff are amazing, always ready to help and give good advices for places to go. Go for the experience, you wont regret

Liked: The setting of the hostel is absolutely stunning. Single rooms have their own sink and the shared toilets and bathrooms are very clean. free wifi in the whole hostel which is awesome. the staff is so helpful and friendly. would definitely use again if im going to ghent. also hotel is about 4 minutes walk to most attractions.

Liked: Unique character in old monastery, dining room in chapel, nice courtyard, very friendly staff, very flexible, quiet location

Liked: Basic clean and quiet single room. Well heated! Beds made up each day.

Disliked: Nothing really. Its more a hotel atmosphere than a hostel. Which was fine for me. Not really the place to meet people backpacking around Europe. Breakfasts are 15euro - which seems alot. Very good bakery down the road which does coffee.

Disliked: A bit too expensive. 46 Euro for a small room (if atmospheric) without bath and without breakfast is a bit much, even in Belgium.

Liked: Close to the tram and walking distance to the central area. Staff were helpful.

Liked: It was definitely nice to stay at a nice well kept facility after traveling around stay at crowded hostels. Nice to have wifi in room and not just common area. Great to have bathrobes, makes up for not having en suite bathroom.

Liked: Lots of 'character'. Great breakfast. Rooms are very simple, but that's kind of the aim of the place. Creaky floorboards meant I didn't get enough sleep!

Liked: I liked the staff, very kind and helpful, the location, very close to the city center, to all turistic objectives, the fact that they offered bathrobes and slippers to compensate somehow for not having an en-suite bathroom. I did like the place and I do recommend it to everyone.
