Liked: The hostel has a cheap bar downstairs which is great as Bruge has little night life. Also a chill out room to read and relax. The cheap laundry is great too.

Disliked: The guy behind the front desk was rude and unmotivated.

Liked: The beds, they had a cortina, so was very nice.

Disliked: There was an alarm that sounds a lot, we had to get away from the hostel beacuse we think that could be fire. Wen the alarm sound, the light turn off, so in the night we can't see, and in the morning we had to wake up.

Liked: The bar was nice and the hostel was pretty close to everything, but everything in Brugge is pretty close to everything.

Disliked: Our room had a leak in the roof, was really loud, and always moist. We couldn't open the windows because they were doors to the outside. We got denied from eating at the restaurant in the hostel twice, but they weren't even close to full and they were serving other people.

Liked: There were curtains for privacy, that makes a big difference surprisingly

Disliked: there was no wifi in the rooms :( the power plugs were also loose

Liked: Central location

Disliked: Negotiating many narrow stairways in a rabbit warren fashion lugging cases. The airlessness of the rooms which was alleviated somewhat when we managed to get the window unscrewed and open. The very average state of the linen on the beds

Liked: It was on a really cute street not far from the city centre

Disliked: The staff member that checked me in was rude. I paid more to stay in a 5 bed room and it was right above the bar - with no sound proofing and the music was turned off at 4am on a Monday night only to go back on at 7! I felt like I was asleep on a table in the bar!

Liked: I thought this was at the top end of the price scale but I suspect Brugge is expensive and you do get a decent breakfast. I thought this was a well organised hostel and the discount card you get on check-in saves a euro here and there. 1euro happy hour at the bar is great value too. All the facilities worked as expected.

Disliked: Wifi was a little bit hit and miss. Had some issues with street noise at 3am but can't blame the hostel for that.

Liked: The location is really good! Bruges is a small town, so no problem about it! Very helpfull staff and there's a bar downstairs if you need anything! I felt secure there. You need a card to access the bedrooms.

Disliked: The wifi is free, but it only works at the reception. There was just one shower and one toilette for 5 bedrooms in my floor! Luckly, there wasn't many people there, but... And the water in the shower wasn't going down...! Disgusting... But just that!

Liked: I met nice people.

Disliked: Well, the difference between what you see on pictures and what you will probably get is bigger than the difference between Bruges and Baghdad. A small, dark room with beds from WWII. Couldn't sleep all night because the bar downstairs (which works in cooperation with the hostel) did not stop playing their stupid music. My room was just one level above the bar. How was I supposed to sleep?! Do not take the risk, do yourselves a favour and go stay in another place and not ruin your holidays in that wonderful town.

Liked: Free breakfast, bike hire, wi fi, bar, atmosphere, location.

Disliked: Bikes were a little run down and could have used attending to- eg flat tires, wheels not turning because of placement of stand.

Liked: The accommodation looks to have had a refurb recently. The pod beds were great, the bedding seemed new, with double power sockets and light per bunk space with privacy curtain. You also have a pull out drawer each for luggage (bring own padlock). The showers were hot, powerful and are in private cubicals with enough room to towel off and change (as the showers are mixed). There is a cyber cafe next to reception. Also a restaurant and a bar next door, they were rammed with people and everyone said the food was great. The barman was good, there are 4 draught beers but if you want to try something different the barman can find you something locally bottled to suit your tastes.

Disliked: Only thing and its a small thing really is parking, the hostel is within the blue zone so it's a pain to park. You can unload outside the hostel but then it's best to park the other side of the canal as this is free 24hr parking (only 5 min walk back to hostel)

Liked: Breakfast is very good! Out of My expect.

Disliked: It's not clean enough, nether the bed nor the roof which is just above My face... And there is à risk to be weaken up at 6am, if there is stealing issue happened and u looks like someone in the camera...

Liked: The breakfast in the morning is good and I love my stay in the room with four other travelers that night. The music in the bar could be a little bit too loud at night if you have trouble sleeping with some noise.

Liked: The pod beds are excellent (in 10 & 16 bed dorms), with very large lockers, but make sure you bring your own lock. Combined with the electronic key system for rooms, this makes for a very safe & secure stay. The bar is fun, and Bauhaus has a deal with a local guy who runs Belgian beer tasting, pub crawls, and walking tours which are worth doing and bring a bit of extra character to the place that would perhaps not be there otherwise. The rooms and bathrooms are generally clean.

Disliked: The reception staff were OK but they were a bit abrupt and it took a long time to get anything done. This may have been due to the fact that every time we were in reception, there was only one person actively helping people (and getting absolutely smashed by the number of customers) while all the other staff were out the back behind a partition. The bar and breakfast staff were very friendly, however. A kitchen would be nice, but as breakfast is included and lunch is cheap, it's not a big deal. The lounge / TV room is out the back of reception (almost hidden away) and barely gets used by anybody as the wireless access doesn't even work there (go to the bar or the front of reception where there is a small couch if you want wifi).

Liked: An awesome hostel with comfortable beds, really helpful staff and clean and safe rooms with lockers. Very quiet at night and just the right the distance from all the touristy stuff in Bruges. One of the best I've visited.

Disliked: Breakfast was a little paltry and wifi reception was poor; but that's being picky really.

Liked: Staff were amazing - very helpful and friendly. The location was excellent, the town centre is just a 15 minute walk away, and if you walk only 2 minutes the other way you have beautiful water and windmills - can't go wrong!
