Liked: I wholly enjoyed my stay at the Ruthensteiner. It has a fantastic bar and common area with instruments for you to use(!) including a piano. I think that was my favourite part about it. The current bartender is an awesome guy named Matt, take the time to ask him how he's doing, and you'll be beginning a fantastic conversation.

Disliked: The room I stayed in was a 5-bed dorm and was a little smaller than I'm used to, with the space between the lower bunk and the upper being a little short, but it's a small cozy place and that's just part of the charm. It's a great place, check it out.

Liked: Easy to find and nice atmosphere. Quite convenient to get places.

Disliked: Well, the cleaning lady comes in before 10:00am of the check-out time. I think its great that she wants to get things done asap because they have quite a few rooms and beds, but still...And it doesn't really matter that you want to sleep in a little later because she'll just keep doing what she's doing.

Liked: Close to Wien Westbahnhof station without any of its busyness it's clean and a short walk to the Leopold Museum and the Jesuit Church. Recycling is encouraged and there are also some recycling facilities further down the street. The festive marathon route passes nearby. There's also a piano downstairs.

Liked: Very homely feel, nice bar and social areas. Would be lovely in the summer.

Liked: The staff here were really helpful and able to offer advice with problems I had. The hostel is clean and spacious. Some hostels just have the bedrooms and a lobby, this hostel had lots of common space (bar, dining area, sitting area) where you could sit and talk with other guests. It is very close to the main train staion and within walking distance of the city centre.

Disliked: The top bunks don't have ladders, you need to climb on a stool to reach them. They have push-button showers, that you have to keep pushing every 30 seconds (but good water pressure in the showers).

Liked: Right by Westbahnof station, it was perfect for taking the Westbahnof train from/to Salzburg. Clean place, close to downtown.

Disliked: No complaints.

Liked: The room is clean and modern. Large common area, with kitchen, bar, indoor and outdoor areas with wifi. Good atmosphere with many young travellers from all over the world. Location is good. 10 min walk from west train station and metro, where a main shopping center is located. Supermarkets and restaurants nearby.

Disliked: Poor wifi signal in my room. The room is a bit small. But, I think it is of good value for money in a large city like Vienna.

Liked: The staff were very helpful and friendly. The rooms were clean. Breakfast was not included but worth buying and the breakfast girl was really nice.

Disliked: The wifi did not work very well in room 2. It was a little far from the old city center but not too long of a walk.

Liked: Nice bar / common room area, musical instruments to play, quite a comfortable place to stay and near convenient transport links.

Disliked: The shower in the dorm room which automatically turns itself off after a small number of seconds. Bed wasn't particularly comfortable.

Liked: I felt very comfortable at this place. It was nice and clean, the staff was great and I like their idea of providing musical instruments in the public area and encourage people to play. The secure deposit lockers with built-in power outlets to charge your phone and keep it safe are a really neat idea! Great place, I would come again!

Disliked: As in many hostels there is just to little space for some things: In the shower rooms it was hard to put your clothes, towel and other stuff anywhere and make sure it doesn't get wet. Same goes for the restrooms. Those should also provide something to dry your hands (e.g. towel, blowdryer).

Liked: It's quite nice, ticks all the boxes with regard to facilities. Piano and guitars for guests were good. It doesn't escape from being a typical German-style hostel where the application of regulations and cleaning regimes is of paramount importance overriding all else.

Disliked: Later checkout than 10 am might help some.

Liked: It was very neat and clean. Staff was very friendly. Nice breakfast too with hot chocolate. Location pretty easy to find. Great atmosphere. You can lock your belongings safely. Has a cool bar and garden. Loved it. The best hostel I have stayed in so far. Absolutely worth the price.

Disliked: Nothing at all.

Liked: Staff was quite friendly and there was lots of information and guidance should that be wanted. The rooms were neat and while I usually trend away from a bathroom outside the room, mine was right across the hall and not a big deal. Very homey feel and nice other travelers to meet in the common areas.

Disliked: Nothing. It was a great stay and my only complaint was that I only stayed one night.

Liked: Really clean, friendly, seemed very social and had a great atmosphere.

Disliked: If you didn't shut the door correctly, it was really easy for people to leave the door to my room completely unlocked. That was frustrating.
