Liked: Great bar, kitchen, and common room. Good location. Nice rooms.

Liked: It was very clean, and the rooms were just the right size for 3 people. It was sooo near the Westbahnhof, which made going around the city very easy!

Disliked: I wasn't too hot about the shared bathroom, because there was hair on the floor and stuff.

Liked: Lockers in every room, musical instruments to play. Just around the corner from a great Australian bar!

Disliked: Showers are a joke, unless you enjoy pressing a button every 10 seconds to supply water. Breakfast is a little pricey. Only cash payment.

Liked: The staff were friendly and contributed to a good atmosphere, the kitchen was well set up, the washing machine and dryer were easy to use. Instructions on how to get to the hostel were well set out on the website.

Disliked: Unfortunately it was a public holiday when I arrived and as a first visit to the country I did not know this and was not advised when I was given a map of the city. Minor but would have saved a lot of trouble as I was quite sick and walked up and down the main road looking for an open pharmacy.

Liked: Very clean common bathrooms, quiet during the night. There is a nice bar with affordable prices.

Disliked: Only cash payment.

Liked: Good location from Central Station, dorms are clean, spacious and secure. Bar and common areas have a really nice atmosphere and cheap beer - I only stayed one night but I would say its probably great for meeting and mixing with others cos of this.

Disliked: I was in the other building across the street which didn't have a kitchen but they did have a sign up saying they were going to be adding a kitchen to this area soon. The kitchen in the main building is too small for the size of the hostel but that's the same story all over with European Hostels. Overall a great place though.

Liked: Very convenient to train station. Clean and hospitable. Very nice and large common area with outdoor seating, encouraged a friendly atmosphere. Kitchen and pay laundry onsite - all you could need if were a short or long stay. Wi-Fi available everywhere.

Disliked: They have rooms was across the street - not a problem when I stayed but could be when weather is bad.

Liked: Location good.

Disliked: Everything is narrow and quite small- narrow room- narrow shower room which the shower keeps going off every 20 seconds- and the light goes off which leaves you showering in the darkness until you open the shower door, which then soaks the floor.They are trying to rectify this problem though, and there is a note to say so on the wall. Good for one night stay.

Liked: The staff are so lovely here, extremely helpful. This hostel overall is rad. Loads of places to hang out with everyone, an outside area and indoors. The rooms are very clean, there is a locker for your stuff. In a great location - you can easily get to the metro which will lead your everywhere, but surrounding area is cool too.

Disliked: There arent enough showers and toilets. The kitchen could be a little bigger, but you just need to judge the right time to get in there and cook dinner.

Liked: I had a really great time here. The beds were very comfy and the rooms were always clean, common and shared. They had lock boxes for money or if you needed to charge cell phones etc. I never walked into the city but the u-bahn station is super close and very efficient. My roommate did walk in and said it took about 40min. There is a grocery store near by and a great restaurant called Mill on Millergasse which I highly recommend to anyone. I really liked the hostel and met great people there thanks to their inviting atmosphere. Also the wi-fi worked awesome in all areas of the hostel.

Disliked: 1eruo for a towel, but at least that means they are professionally laundered I guess. Laundry machines are a bit expensive too. But they do have a line outside that you can hang clothes to dry on.

Liked: I felt like I had my own space in my room even thought there were 8 bunks. I already really appreciated my overhead lamp by my bed.

Disliked: The bathroom/shower. Had to keep pressing it to keep it going. Only lasted about 10 seconds per press. Very irritating.

Liked: I've stayed at Hostel Ruthensteiner three or four times now, and I love it. If you want a party hostel, Wombats is better. If you want to get a good quiet night's sleep, then stay at Hostel Ruthensteiner. There is a large common area, so if you want to meet people and hang out, there's plenty of opportunity for that, too. It's extremely clean and only 3-5 minutes from the nearest U-bahn station.

Disliked: The area it's in has some prostitutes standing around at night, but it's really nothing to be scared of. (Also, many of the other hostels are in the same area, so this would be true for any place near Westbahnhof.)

Liked: I loved this hostel. The beers were cheap and the atmosphere was rising. I met lot of great people there, the garder is awesome. There is opportunity to play the piano and guitar. There is also a great pub near the hostel where I had one of the greatest evenings of this summer. I actually did the fire shot. I would definetily recomend this hostel!

Liked: What I really liked in this hostel - it's value for money. The location is about 10 minutes from the city center by underground, not sio far for a big city. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Although it was written I would stay in 10-beds dormitory, there were only 6 beds. WC and the shower are not directly in the room, but that makes no problems. Everything was clean, there was no noise. The brekfast is offered in the morning. It's not all-you-can-eat, but there are three choices.

Liked: Clean, quiet (except for the voices of other hostel stayers). Good beer at the hostel bar. Lockers in rooms. Free wireless. Good staff.

Disliked: Very little to dislike. You have to pay if you want breakfast, and there was a lot of light from the street, but overall a very nice hostel.
