‘Hostel Ruthensteiner’ is a friendly, smoke-free hostel with a great international atmosphere! Great prices, kitchen, gardens and no curfew!

Just 4 minutes walk from the Westbahnhof Train Station! This is the perfect place to stay in Vienna! (on a quiet side street) and equidistant between the city center and beautiful Palace Schoenbrunn! The main shopping street, ‘the Mariahilferstrasse’ is just around the corner. From here you can either walk to many major sites or hop on the metro or tram just a minute or 2 away.
Friends and family-run and 'one of a kind, not one of a chain!', ours is the ideal hostel for the individual traveler or small family groups. Come visit us!

Some of our many amenities include a new self-service kitchen, 2 lovely gardens complete with barbeque and oversized chess set, lockers, Internet, laundry and musical instruments for your use. We display "Art from Around the World" and have revolving artwork (paintings and sculptures). We have a cozy bar and serve a delicious local draft beer, wines, juices, and cocktails and a variety of non-alcoholic beverages. We also offer very popular tours that leave right from the hostel. Some of these include: bike and walking tours and an all-day "Grape Grazing/Biking" tour to the Wachau wine-growing region in the Danube Valley!

We can offer you Vienna's best-priced beds from dorm beds -both mixed and female only,(using your own sheets or sleeping bags or renting ours for the first night only for 2-) to beds in Double, 2,3,4,5,6 and 8 bedded rooms including linen. Our rooms are very comfortable and cozy. In each room you will find a sink with hot and cold water. Showers and toilets are just down the hall. We also have several new rooms (doubles, quads, 6 and 8 bed rooms with private showers and toilets!)

Take time to see our wonderful city- full of famous museums, gorgeous architecture, coffee houses, music, etc. Don't miss the new Leopold Museum in the Museum Quarter, with the largest collection of Egon Schiele paintings and other art nouveau artists. Other favorites are the Fine Art's museum and the palaces Schoenbrunn and Belevedere. There are lots of great clubs and discos for dancing the night away!
