 the lockers in the rooms and the breakfast was awesome!!! thou could do with reading lights above the beds.

Good location being near the Christmas markets, the castle & shopping areas. Good value for budget travellers. Nice common kitchen with free breakfast. Probably will be more appealing after the renovation work is completed.

Seemed to have what was needed for a good hostel but there was something odd about the place. Time of year maybe? Wasn't much atmosphere and renovating was taking place. Cleaners trying to get into rooms before 9am was a bit bizarre as well.

Breakfast was okay. And the Sound of Music movie every night if thats your thing. The worst thing was how extremely hot the rooms were. Hard to sleep in as felt feverish.

I liked that the sheets were actually clean and that it was required to strip the beds upon checkout.
I also enjoyed the fact that you served a real continental breakfast and not just bread and cereal like most hostels do.

The location is great, not a long walk to the river and castle is quite close. Out of the 2 hostels in Salzbourg i believe it was the cheapest and quite good value... although internet was very expeensive and staff werent that inviting

It really is a family hostel - which takes a little getting used to with groups of kids running around everywhere! The location is pretty good, right at the base of the castle. Breakfast is included (and most people stock up for lunch as well), and there is a bar, etc. Just be aware that the vibe is very family, so its more like a camping ground sort of vibe rather than a party hostel - but hey, get out and enjoy the town instead.
