Liked: I liked how central this hostel was to the city center, it is easy to walk everywhere, or take a bus right from the hostel to locations outside of the city

Disliked: It really is for families. I have traveled through all o Europe and met great people everywhere, but here, after 3 nights, I didn't meet a soul. Either go with your friends and family, or if traveleing alone, don't expect to meet lots of people. The hostel is nice, like a hotel, but our room was like a closet with about 3 feet between the beds to walk, very small and no light, but we were stuck pretty much in the basement, other rooms are nicer and some even with a balcony.

Liked: Location was definitely a plus as it was right under the castle in the old part of town. The bike hire was really cheap however the hostel is in walking distance to everything. Really safe especially for single women as I was placed in a 8 dorm with other women or similar age (whether or not this was intentional, it was definetly a plus)! The free breakfast was a great start to the morning.

Disliked: The number of loud high school children was quite annoying especially late at night. The price of dinner offered by the cafeteria was more expensive than the local eateries. Sometimes the staff just ignored you or answered very bluntly.

Liked: Very clean. More like a motel than a hostel. Quiet too. A very good place to rest. The food is excellent, especially when you consider that the breakfast is free.

Disliked: it attracts a lot of families and school groups, so it's not at all like a social youth hostel. Don't come here expecting to meet tons of people.

Disliked: A little bit hidden and far from the center, even though it's only 15 minutes walking.

Liked: Amazingly clean, warm, efficient, purpose built, good facilities. In other words, very Austrian.

Disliked: At first I thought it was a bit clinical, but you must learn the ways of the Austrian mind.

Liked: Nice clean rooms and the option to have dinner there if you wanted to. It was within walking distance to the Old Town which was great.

Disliked: It seems to be used for school groups a bit so that the dining area was overrun by them most of the day and they certainly weren't quiet!

Liked: basically everything: good location, clean, good breakfast, safe, friendly and very helpfull staff, friendly to people on wheelchairs and friendly to families ( they even have a small playground)

Liked: Nice staff and really good breakfast. We could get only the breakfast for that money in a cafe in Salzburg.

Disliked: When we arrived and opened the room, somebody was sleaping there, but we were eight and booked a room for eight! So I went to the reception to complain. They were not even surprised, just checked a few papers and gave us two rooms in the hotel part. We were lucky in the end because we got better service for the same money, but... they werent even surprised!

Liked: The guesthouse was very central to the center and easy to find. The staff were helpful witha great lounge area.

Disliked: There were only a few showers near the downstairs rooms.
