Liked: A very nice place where you can feel truly Austrian atmosphere. The staff is very kind, nice and helpful. The surroundings are fantastic. Very good home-cooked food and cheap drinks, the bar where locals come together every evening and their stories make us feel sorry that we spent so little time there. Thanks Gerhard, Rachel and Karin - we already miss you

Liked: Great location, really peaceful and relaxing, a nice spot to go walking in. Meals provided by the hostel were fantastic.

Disliked: Probably not the best place if you have allergies - the downstairs room where dinner and breakfast were served was thick with smoke (including first thing in the morning), and lots of dogs andI cats around. It was virtually empty when I was there and it felt a little awkward. I can see it would be a great place to stay when it was busier though.

Liked: extremely nice place to kick back, staff great, cheap drinks, away from town which is tiny anyway so doesn't matter and such a rural homely feel to the place. Dogs there are cuddly and fun etc. Cool place

Liked: It was amazing! Perfect location, awesome staff, friendly, relaxed and fun!

Disliked: room smelt a little damp, but it wasn't really an issue.

Liked: nothing..the worst location in a magic countryside of Gruenau im Almtal

Disliked: the garden and the balcony was durty with a lot cigarets throw away.we take some pictures.forests without brushwood it is not possible.

Liked: This place is amazing, definitely worth a stop on any tour of Austria/Europe. Very helpful staff, great atmosphere, facilities, everything you could need. Homecooked meals are excellent and great value (you don't have any other choice anyway)

Liked: When we came they had already set up the baby cot for us in the room which we did not expect and it was really good... Gerhard the owner was really helpful and was easy to speak with and really knew how to get you to where you wanted like for us it was to go for a light hike and Gerhard recommended Almsee which was just perfect.

Disliked: The room we stayed in was a little cold.. the door to the balcony would not close.. a little bit of cash investment would go a long way in getting the place a small bit of renovation. But then it is geared for the backpacker and when I was younger it would not of bothered me .

Liked: Gerherd was an unbelievable host! I loved staying here, I had had such a hectic holiday to that point, and getting there to be greeted by a beer and deck next to the fresh water stream was perfect.

Disliked: Its much further than I had thought from Wels.

Liked: We had an absolutely fantastic weekend thanks to the Tree House team. This is such a relaxed place to stay, great people, great location, fab meals.

Liked: Best accomodation in Europe - right in the middle of the Austrian Alps. The lake and the waterfall are beautiful spots to head to; if you like scenery this place is perfect. You can hire bikes and most times one of the staff will come with you. There isn't much else to do here when it''s not snowing but it is super relaxing. The hostel staff make you feel right at home - Gerhard is awesome preparing some of the best home cooked meals - the best food I have eaten on our trip! We will definitely stay again!

Liked: This place is amazing - I fell in love. The owner Gerhard is just wonderful, the surroundings stunning, the food delicious, the rooms homely and its all incrediably good value for $$ (it's so cheap!). Even if you only stay a couple of nights you will feel amazing (but I promise you will want to stay longer!). Can't wait to come back to snowboard in ski season!!!

Liked: This place was great!! The staff were amazing and it had a very social atmosphere so it was a great place to meet people. There were also plenty of activities to keep you occupied. I would definitly recommend this place.

Liked: It is a spot of paradise in the heart of Europe. You rent bikes, ride a horse, it's easy and funny.

Disliked: Orange juice costs 1,50 euro at breakfast. Unfortunetly all other things were perfect.

Liked: Friendly hosts made us feel really welcome and comfortable. Beautiful area with some nice walks and bike rides nearby. Quiet and peaceful (most of the time). Great spot to relax. Would stay again.

Disliked: A noisy student group arrived on the 2nd night. Talking loudly and banging doors until midnight.
