Liked: I loved this place! It's definately not for someone looking for a crazy nightlife or to be busy all day but if you are looking for some relaxation in beautiful surroundings this place is it!

Liked: Loved it there. It's a bit off the beaten path but it's totally worth it. Dinner, which was 8 euro extra was excellent home style cooking (and even included dessert!!!). The owner has dogs and a cat and they're really friendly. The staff told me about a brilliant little hike to go on, and then came with me so I wouldn't get lost!! Had free bikes for rent and hot water for tea at breakfast. A brilliant place to get away from the cities and they even pick you up from the train station!! Good thing too because it'd be a long walk.

Liked: positives: food, staff, location (if you want to spend time in the mountains), servicesnegative: cigarette smoke from the bar downstairs goes up the stairs and is present everywhere in the hostel (even in the rooms!)

Liked: Gerhard, the owner, is extremely attentive, friendly, and helpful. There are many outdoor activities to do like hiking, biking, horseback riding, rafting. There is a game room and pool table. The sauna was out of comission when we were there. There is no self-help kitchen but the home cooked meals are fabulous. The only problem I encountered was that smoking is allowed everywhere in the hostel and on the premises -it was pretty stinky and hard to get away from. The bar downstairs is a common hang out for locals, which can be entertaining.

Liked: We appreciated the extreme friendliness and helpfulness of the staff and owners. The food was homecooked and tasty, even taking into account a vegetarian's diet. The view from our room was spectacular and the bedding was clean.

Liked: Staff were amazing. The place really felt like home and it was a true Austrian experience. You can have a drink with the locals at night or keep to yourself. You can relax during the day or do a hard 7 hour hike. You can really make your own time

Liked: Location mostly it is in really beautiful part of austria that is not to far off the beaten track well connected to salzburg and viennaeven on a sunday. the food was unbelievable and cheap. As soon as we found out that Gerhard used to be a pastry chef I put my order in for apple strudel and he obliged inproviding it that evening! Don´t overlook this hostel in the summer the hiking and bike riding was spectacular and as it is mostly a winter destination we almost had the run of the place to ourselves. highly recommended
