Liked: Very nice and clean place. We could relax when we needed it. Eventhough there were a lot of young people who liked to party, we didn't experience any noice during the night. Would stay there again if we come back to Sydney.

Disliked: There could have been more info and brochures on Sydney, they mostly had brochures on day trips to other places.

Liked: The location is good and its cheap to stay

Disliked: The whole place seems really grubby and in need of a major makeover. The ac wasn't working at the time I stayed and the door lock to my room was broken. Also, the mattress was the worst I had slept on and I've slept in loads of hostels.

Liked: Location

Disliked: Free breakfast was usually gone before 9am, dirty rooms and bathrooms. Cleaners did not even change the duvet covers but only the sheets. Kitchen also very dirty, washing liquid was almost never there and not enough cups and forks. In one room my roommates told me they had just spotted a giant cockroach and had luckily killed it before I entered the room but that says enough about the cleanliness.

Liked: Free drinks for the surrounding pubs

Disliked: The breakfast was poor and the mattresses were like sleeping on springs. The room was never cleaned while i was there other than emptying the bin and on a couple of occasions the bathroom had a distinct smell of sick!!!!

Liked: Everything was convenient and easy, nothing bad stuck out in my mind which is always good! all round great place to stay, they organise alot of activities which was spot on + drinks and meal vouchers and other offers, i recomend staying there

Disliked: couldnt cook after 11 and hard to find a cup to drink from.

Liked: i really liked the position, close to evrything in the city. I liked also the staff, very helpful, and the atmosphere

Disliked: the property is to old, it really need a refurbishment, and it's not to clean. the breakfast is not enough and i had to run for all the corridors to get a mug for the cofee.

Liked: The location wasn't bad

Disliked: The kitchen really wasn't very clean and there wasn't enough storage. The property was very run down and the bathrooms were all very dirty. I could not sleep on the bed in my room as it was practically falling apart but to be fair to reception they did move me to a different room when I informed them about it and they went up to make sure the bed was ok. Unfortunately the matresses were all very uncomfortable.

Liked: Sheets and bedding was clean.

Disliked: The hostel was extremely noisy and the noise coming from the street meant little to no sleep as there was singing and screaming going on in the alley all night. The taps were leaking and the showers need an upgrade. Location is generally not that safe - we were attacked by a drunk coming out of Maloney's with a glass. The staff were slow and more interested in their own conversations as opposed to helping us or apologising for taking their time - no advice or service offered either. I've stayed in other Sydney hostels before and I believe that there are many better than this one.

Liked: We moved to maze from nomads, and maze is so much better! The rooms are bigger, the tv room is nice, not disgusting in any way, and the kitchens are cleaned regularly! The rooms are really nice too!! The only thing is that the bathrooms are not that clean, kinda gross actually :/But over all this is a really nice place to stay, and a great location too! :)The staff are nice too!

Liked: The atmosphere was fun and exciting. People were always doing something and hanging in the dining hall.

Disliked: I didn't feel all that safe in the hostel. The room was a closet with a bunk bed whose mattresses were god awful to sleep on. The comforters looked like they hadn't been washed in years and the room was very dirty. The showers were terrible with weak water power and very dirty.

Liked: Well positioned, staff helpful. Free breakfast as had three nights or more booked. Also had free pick up from airport for the same reason. Rooms basic but generally clean. Security at night means nobody gets in unless they have a key.

Disliked: Security lockers were out of order during our stay which would be a bit risky if you're in a dorm. Fridges overloaded with everybody's stuff, and hadn't been cleaned for a while and the bathroom facilities are a bit dated.

Liked: It was in a good location. The man on reception when we arrived was nice and friendly despite it being busy. Seems a friendly place that would be good if you were on your own.

Disliked: The bathrooms were dirty and the showers weren't very good, none of the free stuff described on hostelbookers was offered. It was extremely noisy, despite the window being shut we could hear evrything from the busy street below (which goes on all night, even on a Wednesday night). The hostel wasn't particularly noisy but some morons kept jumping down the steps next to our room all night long which made massive bangs on the rickety floorboards. Also didn't feel completely sure that the bed sheets wer that clean.
