Liked: free breakfast (toast, jam, cereals, te and coffee). Right in the city and next to Paddys market. Much space in the rooms. Clean. One computer with free internet (enough for this small hostel)

Disliked: Have to pay for the wifi, high stairs - hard to get up heavy bags. Have to pay for luggage room (2 dollar).

Liked: Central location, large room (stayed in 6 bed female room), had windows that could open, the complimentary breakfast

Disliked: The stairs - it was difficult carrying heavy luggage upstairs. Could hear the traffic, but because it's so central that's to be expected. There are not enough bathrooms/toilets for all the guests so you will have to time your showers etc well.

Liked: Close to Market City and Central Train Station

Disliked: Very far walk from the warf. Beds were very loud and squeaky. Although a cleaning crew came in everyday to clean, their cleaning was very superficial. There was disgusting amounts of dust under beds and on top of everything. There are only 2 bathrooms and 3 showers per floor.

Liked: good location. easy to reach transportation and shopping centre. Appr 5 minutes to China Town.

Disliked: It was very noisy on the street. I almost have not had sleep for whole night.

Liked: It was clean and safe in the double room. Toilet and Shower room cleaned every morning and was hot. Also digital tv in room made it easy to chill out of an evening. Travelling in a couple on a budget would stay here again!

Disliked: There was no atmosphere, if travelling alone would have never met anyone as communal areas were very small. Staff were not very helpful. Room was cold of a night as poor windows (noisy) and linen was not changed over 3 days.

Liked: Location - proximity to Central Station, Monorails, Darling Harbour and Circular Quay. The staff were very nice.

Disliked: The toilets didn't look like they'd been cleaned that day. I was a bit apprehensive to use the shower because of this. The luggage room needs to be locked at all times. Being in the heart of the city it is expected to be noisy, I think there needs to be a bit of insulation to stop it being so noisy.

Liked: Bathroom was very clean. Free breakfast.

Disliked: Staff were most unhelpful at times. When we asked questions about a shuttle bus to the airport, the lady on reception told us that was not part of her job to advise or arrange this for us. Also most of the staff did not speak very good English.

Liked: I liked that the kitchen was well stocked and it was a quiet property (during the winter with all the windows closed!)

Disliked: It was cold, the kitchen is way too small for that many people to stay there and there was only one big spoon!

Liked: Great location near the train station and darling harbour. Big roomy dorms, large flatscreen tv in kitchen/eating area. Good sized kitchen and always very clean.

Disliked: Had to pay for wi-fi, not really any area to hang out so therefore not much of an atmosphere, maybe I was just there on a quiet weekend...if there is one in Sydney

Liked: Everything!! It wasn't a palace, but it was clean, friendly staff, good facilities, spacious rooms, good free breakfast, quiet (was a monday), bathrooms were immaculate, fabulous location- so close to Central station, very close to the city centre shopping centres and theatres. Overall, a great place to stay!!!

Disliked: The building itself is old, there were cracks in the walls and ceiling. But the hostel was clean and well-maintained otherwise. Highly reccomned this place, was fantastic!!

Liked: great location and friendly staff. The Hosel was kept well and was clean. The free internet, tea/coffee and breakfast was a nice touch. Didnt notice the traffic noise much and I was on the front. Overall it was a rally good hostel and would stay there again and reccommend it

Disliked: THe dining area was small but there was an outdoor area and table

Liked: Good location and rooms were clean.

Disliked: The 24hr emergency service didn't exist. We had trouble with the lock to our room, called the number only to be verbally abused by the manager. As noone would come out to help, the 6 of us staying in the room slept on the kitchen floor. Not an enjoyable stay, and I certainly would not reccommend Mountbatten Hotel to other traveller's.
