Liked: the bathrooms and rooms were not very clean, and the dorm we stayed in was no bigger than a double bedroom with three sets of bunk beds crammed in! internet was expensive, and you had to pay daily for a locker.... saying that the free breakfast was good, they did arrange stuff to do in the nights but seemed a bit expensive for backpackers. The staff are really really nice tho :)

Liked: This was your average hostel. Pretty big, a little bit funky, pretty good kitchen common room etc. I think that the organised events every night would be a great way to meet people.For me, the stand out were the staff. They were all extremely helpful and lovely - and my room was upgraded from the 28 bed dorm to a 4 bed dorm. How about that?!

Liked: We had booked a night in the "church" room with 28 beds but got upgraded to a 6 bed dorm for the same price because of a leak which was nice. Not a bad hostel but very commercial. Its part of a large chain and it really shows-stuff a lot of hostels give away for free incurs a charge here-towels,wifi,internet,lockers, there are ads everywhere and their tours were heavily promoted (an intercom comes on in your room a couple of times to tell you when the pub crawl is leaving). The room itself was fine but our air con unit was dripping loudly for ages until someone else in the room fixed it. Also there was a bit of a funky smell in there. Nice staff. Okay to stay a night but wouldnt like a longer stay-probably more suitable for younger backpackers.

Liked: Very central, you can walk to all the attraktions and do not have to pay for an expensive bus ticket.I liked the kitchen and the TV room.The nightly offers were good and they had a great beach BBQ.

Liked: Fun, with many activities planned. Comfy beds, made for you! ;) Ensuite dorms. AWESOME kitchen/lounge area to meet people and hang out. Pool table always going, and many a fun person to be met. Will defo stay there next time I'm in Sydney! GOOOOOO Nomads!

Liked: pay for internet is expensive/ (4$ in 1 hour) , didn't have a cupboard in the room you must pay a hour every day ( 4$ for 12 hour ) recharge mobile phone in secure locck ( 2$ - 30 min )

Liked: Westend Backpackers has been the back bone of my travels. I have met so many great people through the hostel as a result of the variety of entertainment organised on a daily basis by Lloyd the best entertainment manager ever! All staff are very polite, enthusiastic, welcoming and always go the extra mile to ensure everyone staying at the hostel have an enjoyable stay. The hostel is run excellently by all the managers, but I must point out that Kat is an absolute diamond. There is no better hostel anywhere in Australia, so look no further and book in!!! Be sure to get a spot in the church (32 bed dorm) it’s were dreams are made!

Liked: Fab hostel to stay at - easy to get to all main sights and great for travellers on a budget as they offer loads of freebies and take you on great days out and nights out!! And importantly it has air conditioned rooms and a clean, spacious kitchen. Would stay there again and recommend to any traveller.

Liked: Amazing.. i was only 1 night there, could check in 2h earlier than the normal time. just arrived went with all the others to the beach for FREE BBQ. In the night we were at the very NICE BAR in Kingscross and had 2 driks for free. The people and the staff were awesome. Sorry sounds like good commercial for this Hostel.. =) but it was much fun. Very safe.. you have e-cards for your dorms, dorms were very clean (for a hostel), my bed was amazing (maybe the mattress was new) and 24h open reception!Would stay there again and again and again.. :)ThanksThe only thing what i found.. internet was a bit expensive 4AUD for 1h.

Liked: Good kitchen and common room. Also free breakfast was pretty good too.Room was a little squashed and needed some natural ventalation, ie a window that could be opened. Besides that fine.

Liked: The Good: Nice common area on the first floor - a tv area where you could watch tv, a kitchen, and a a sort of lounge area - all were a nice place to hang out. The 28-person dorm was very good to stay in. It had good air conditining and it was much more quiet than you would expect for a 28-person room. The staff was great, all very friendly people.The Bad: You have to pay for lockers. The kitchen was short on pans and cutlery - you could get pans for a deposit at reception though. Only thing was that the lines at reception were very long as it was understaffed, so it took a long time. Also there were long waiting times for the elevator, and it wasn't functioning very well.All in all this hostel was good value for money though.

Liked: Its a really nice hostel right in the heart of Sydney, the facilities and staff are really good with the possible exception of long waits for the lift! not a major problem. By far the best of the the two nomad hostels if alittle on the expensive side.
