Liked: Great room-we had en-suite both times, even in the 4 bed, and no-one joined us in the fourth bed so we had a room to ourselves with our own bathroom!

Disliked: Once Alfred Park has been finished this will be a fantastic place to stay-obviously the renovation is not the hostel's fault.

Liked: This hostel was great for me as I was only staying in sydney for work. Its not a party hostel and you wont be woken up by drunks at 3am. I felt at home here and all the other guests were very friendly.

Disliked: Could done with some more food storage, and a BBQ every so often or some sort of activity to allow people to meet would have been good as its not allways that easy!

Liked: Perhaps it was a good deed to salvage and renovate the old building for value added and economic use.

Disliked: The housekeeping of the room was rather not up to the mark. The hot and cold water tap from the basin should be of one source type so that warm water could be flow as one.

Liked: Very central location, kitchen facilities, helpful and informative manager. Loved the policy that guests have to be quiet after 10.30pm, and the manager actually takes action if there're inconsiderate loud guests disturbing the peace.

Liked: The staff was excellent in helping me out anytime i needed anything. The rooms and facilities are clean and the kitchen is large with everything you need to cook. Internet is super cheap and it's less than 10 minute walk to central station.The place is secure and safe here. and i never had to wait for the bathrooms... which i was expecting! nice to have the refrigerators and tv in the rooms. overall it was a great experience and i ended up extending my stay to over 2 weeks...!

Disliked: it would be nice to have a tv common area though..!

Liked: Friendliest staff we have encountered on our travels. Good location that is safe to walk around in, even at night. Nice, big, clean kitchen to cook and fridges in the rooms mean you can store your food safely too.

Liked: Relatively close to Central Station, tho more a 10 min walk than 5 as they say.

Disliked: It wasn't especially clean; the kitchen facilities aren't amazing but they do; there was nowhere to hang out and chill in the warm-- the one area where you can hang out has an open wall to the outside and so it gets cold in there easily, esp in wintertime. The number of bathrooms to people could be higher. The bathrooms needed to be cleaned a lot more and a lot better than they were, also they were pretty ancient bathrooms.

Liked: The balcony had a good view of the Sydney skyline and it's close to Central Station.

Disliked: Only four or five showers/toilets in the whole place and they are not very nice.

Liked: very friendly and helpful stuff! I met lots of nice people there. Because it was my first hostel I couldn't give 100% in each section. Rooms were cleaned when people leave. Kitchen is cleaned every day. Kitchen is open on 2 sides, so it gets a bit cold in winter. It's not far walking to central station. They have 4 Computers where you can pay for using internet. Sometimes the connection is not good but it works. It's really quiet if you want it to be quiet. But if you want to have fun you will always meet people to go out with.

Disliked: in my week I had to change room once and the bathroom wasn't cleaned during my stay.

Liked: the staff was extraordinary friendly and helpful! i got upgraded to a 4 bed dorm. felt very homy. 2hrs. internet for free and I guess in summer very nice with barbecue in courtyard and a very nice balcony

Liked: it really is a homey place to stay! i loved my room,

Disliked: it's bit far from the cbd,, it is alright to walk around during daytime but bit scary after dark, (not many people around,,)

Liked: I would say for the price you pay you get really good service. They have a heater in the room. It is as well the only hostel I saw with a fridge in every room. So I don't have to worry about my food and my beer for sure. It is pretty quite at night time so I never had problems to sleep. No drunken and scary people hanging around. In my room where a washing place where I can brush my teeth. The toilets will be renovated soon and then it will be great. The staff is very friendly and have always one ear open for you. I would be happy to go there again.

Liked: Private Twin with ensuite is good. Small kitchen, which can be really busy: an extra sink would be nice, just like extra mugs and drinking glasses. Dorm is also ok. Extra common bathrooms and toilets would be nice, but they are working on this.

Liked: The hostel is within walking distance to the central station, from which you can catch so many trains to the tourist attractions, just 3 stops away. It is central but yet quiet and hence offers you good sleep at night. The room was clean and comfortable. Plus there is 2 hours internet free for each person stay there.
