Disliked: In the days before NYE it was very busy in the hostel. The cleaning of the bathrooms was not properly done in that days (because of the busyness???)

Liked: The Staff, were very helpful in all aspects of my stay, from changing my room when I requested a quieter one, to help with directions and local knowledge. Lovely people...

Disliked: The room I was initially given was very noisy. It was opposite two showers/toilets, with a window that faced the corridor, without a curtain fitted, so constant noise & light into the room filtered into my room and it smelt terribly, like old smelly socks! If you want a early night, it's impossible, due to the constant noise from the kitchen and drunk guests partying on the balcony, without any consideration for other guests.

Liked: Cheap, Cheap, Cheap. $3 for 24 hour internet. Small rooms, but OK - have TV's and fridges in the room!

Liked: Great place to stay! Friendly, helpful staff who really make you feel at home. Clean and comfortable rooms and great new bathrooms!! Will definitely be staying again.

Disliked: It is being renovated so construction noise may be an issue. I got woken up by drilling at 7.30 on a Saturday morning. Very very uncool.

Liked: Airport pickup

Disliked: There is currently building work on the premises. Room walls are paper thin - you can here conversation in the hall, next door etc - this is partly down to the 2 inch gap at the bottom of the door. Wifi signal is sketchy at best, but cheap. All but one of the bathrooms have no working lock on the doors. Overall, needs more than a little TLC... Once the building work is done it may be transformed. In the meantime, avoid.

Liked: Staff was great. Very helpful and friendly.

Disliked: Let's see. So many issues. First, there was noise in the courtyard until late in the evening. Second, there was construction from early in the morning. Third, the kitchen was closed without warning because of the construction. Fourth, we found a bedbug in our room. Fifth, after being moved to another room because of the bedbug problem, we were across the hall from the group bathroom, and the door slammed constantly all night, making sleep almost impossible. Sixth, the location was not ideal. Really the only thing saving this place is the staff and owners. In any other situation, with all of the problems we encountered at this location (especially the bedbug), we would have been livid. But the owners and staff really seemed to care about the issues and tried to address them in a friendly, reasonable manner. Does that make up for the downsides we experienced? No. Do I think we overpaid for staying here? Yes. I think all of our money should be refunded; none was. However, getting decent service in a country without any mitigated the disaster.

Liked: Good location, room is worth the money you pay for it.

Disliked: First of all, the hostel is being renovated. This means that half of the space inside of the hostel is a mess, and in every corner you can see dirty stuff such as paint-pots and blocks. Secondly, I was really disappointed as when I asked the staff to book me a shuttle to the airport for the day of my departure, I had to remind twice before the booking was done and it ended with the shuttle not coming at all, though I had been waiting for it for 20 minutes and nearly missed my check-in...luckily, I managed to get a taxi in time. So I really do recommend this hostel to those who want to save their money and don't care about the surrounding, but if you want to have something booked from the staff - remember that it's at your own risk.
