After 20 hours flying from South America, tired, exhausted, no one come up to do the check in. I had advised that I would arrive at 10pm and nobody come up to let me in. I spent 1.15min in front of the hostel waiting the staff (it was very cold outside) . The reception of 'Travellers Rest' close at 7pm.

The room was pretty large with a sink, toaster, TV and fridge, we were also lucky to get a room with a balcony which was very nice for the nights. The rooms are pretty clean, there is no room service but thats not a problem at all. The kitchen is average size with all the facilities you need plus it has a TV which makes sitting in the kitchen and eating okay. The bathroom facilities are pretty good but I can imagine in a busy season there being queues for them, the washing machines are out the back in a garage but there is free washing up powder for them. The "free" internet is actually an hours free internet on thier computers but its handy. The only problem I would say is the door onto the balcony wasnt very tight shutting and the people next door were smoking and the smoke came into the room and the fan wasnt working

It was a cheap place in the middle of the city, however the website failed to advertise the $10 key deposit, and one the lights blew in our room. I also felt that the bins in the bathroom werent very clean, but overall a good spot to stay

In the middle of Kings Cross in Sydney close to station so easy to get to from central station on subway (use the eastern suburbs line, $5.90 platform 25, 3 stops to Kings Cross). TV and fridge, but no air con.
