The Poeple here are very friendly and it´s a familial atmosphere. The kitchen is appointed very well. It is next to the Center, so you have to walk only 5-10 minutes.

Overview

Tokyo Village is owned and run by Charles who arrived as a backpacker himself on Australia’s then very distant shores some 30 years ago. He has a wealth of traveling experience and as a result is able to offer everything a backpacker could need.

We are a small (65 bed) hostel with a difference. Small and personal with a quirky atmosphere, catering more for people who like to travel away from the big crowds and party houses.

The owner is hopelessly addicted to bushwalking, mountain biking and similar activities he probably has more knowledge of the great National Parks and how to access them than many Australians. His wife , Vanessa also arrived backpacking here from Korea many years ago, manages the business and ensures that everything is being kept clean and tidy. Little Marcel, Bejamin and Totoro are the junior partners.

Accommodation Information

Accommodation ranges from well appointed double and triple rooms, to 4, 6 and 8 bed dormitories. All beds are freshly made with all linen and doonas (aussie for duvet) supplied.

We have single sex as well as mixed couples dorms available (no marriage certificate required!) The rooms are airy with plenty of natural light, some have private balconies.

Since we consider dormitories as places to rest we do not provide TVs or fridges in those rooms.

Our double or twin rooms are well appointed with comfortable beds, desk, sink and TV.
A limited number of single rooms are available appointed to the same standard as our double rooms.

Location Information

Located a short walk (5-7 minutes depending on the length of your legs) from Central Station Tokyo Village is ideally located to access the city, beaches, colleges as well as work locations.

Chinatown, Town Hall as well as the Opera house are within easy walking distance and for those tired of city walking there is a bust stop in front of our door to take the hard work out of sight seeing.

Surry Hills is a cool inner city suburb with plenty of cheap (and expensive) restaurants, great pubs and bars, art galleries, theatres, live music and much more.

Chinatown with its many cheap eateries, exotic markets and 24h pulsating life is just a few minutes’ walk away .

Darling Harbour with attractions such as the Aquarium, Wildlife World, the IMAX theatre are an easy stroll from here or if you take a ride on the light rail from Central Station you may also visit the Fish Markets and Star City Casino.
