jessica watermanstayed here for 5 weeks in the six-bed female dorm and felt at home after the first day. big kitchen with nice sized refrigerators, stove, and dining area. nice outdoor patio tables, big upstairs common room for watching movies, free internet, reading etc. great location! just off King street, so the street noise is not an issue. located in the heart of funky little Newtown, close to bars, restaurants, cinema, shops, grocery stores, pharmacies, etc. if you're staying in Sydney, this is the best hostel by far! very highly recommended!!!!! |

Bruce HibberdLocation in Newtown is excellent for buses to city, nearby shops and bars. Smaller than big city CBD hostels and pleasant situation. Newtown is a alternate, unbiversity suburb with diverse population...students, gay, goth, multi cultural feel and restraunts of most cusines. |

Allison PelenskyIf you are in the annex you will be away from the main part of the hostel and the free wi-fi is WAY too slow, also if you are in the annex it is much less social than the main building. Otherwise, Newtown is a really funky area and Billabong Gardens has all the amenities you would come to expect from a good hostel. |

Customer reviewThe nice atmosphere of the hotel, the spacy kitchen, living rooms, the nice garden and the location in the city centre. Rooms are small, but that's okay if you are outside most of the time. Notice: no air-conditioning but ventilators in rooms. Should have internet facilities. |
