Liked: Big Hostel 4 floors with activities organised every night. Fun bar next door. Dorms and facilities are clean and comfy. I would def stay here again and recommend to anyone wanting to stay in the city. Great location close to everything. The only one negative thing is that there is 1 lift which takes for ever to get to your floor. If you don't mind the stairs somethimes this is a cool place to stay.

Liked: Base is the best hostel I have stayed in! It provides excellent security, fantastic events at the bar next door and great value for money.

Liked: They really shouldn't have to charge guests for the use of the lockers downstairs. Those lockers are just sitting there, whether or not they are being used, and the idea of having to pay a $6 rental fee is ludicrous. Also, of all the hostels I've previously stayed in, I've NEVER had to pay to use a computer. A place like Base with so many guests should be able to afford letting their guests use the internet free of charge (considering that this place doesn't even offer a free breakfast).

Liked: I met some great people here and it is in a really good location; near the harbour. What really let this hostel down was the behavior of the night manager. I checked out on the monday morning and paid to use the storage lockers. When I came back to collect my things that night to go to the airport, the night manager aggressivly demanded my passport and I was forced to pay for another nights accomodation that I had not used. I had simply used the lockers, which I had paid for and returned to collect my things. I am submitting a formal complaint to Base but will NEVER use them again.

Liked: Great location! Short walk to all the touristy stuff as well as shopping centers, bars, etc.

Liked: Clean and quiet in the Sanctuary. Would definitely stay there again. Everyone was very friendly and there is 24 hour service.

Liked: The staff was very friendly, and great location, just in the middle oft he centre. The kitchen was huge, but not enough places in the fridge, and no FORKS!!!i had a great stay they, and would definetely go back and recommend to others!thank you guys:)

Liked: The rooms were cleaned daily. Lockers are available under the beds, using your own pad lock. The showers were clean as were the toilets. There was a massive kitchen, although no oven. The laundry facilities were perfect. They organise nights out and have a travel agent based in the hostel. TV room with Cable and plenty of internet computers. The price was reasonable. Only complaint was the wifi had to be paid for, at $15 for 24hrs or $5 for 1 hour i think.
