A little bit pricey for a room with no ensuite

Good character and central common area for sitting around and chatting. A definite downside - the bathrooms are inconvenient, with no mirrors for shaving by the sink or sockets for electric razers.

The British and German girls were quite helpful. The kitchen and tv lounge were quite good. The room had a tv and fridge. Overall, the staff seem very friendly which gives a good vibe around the place.

If you stay more than three nights get a goodie pack, with awesome deals in it. There is something to do every night with others in the hostel. Had internet and laundry services.

Although outside of CBD, it's easy to get walk to the downtown sites through Wooloorooloo. More importantly, Bruce and his staff are absolutely amazing. The facility is a beautiful historic-type building and well maintained. It seems to draw long-term "residents," and they show a lot of respect for their "homes." The 9:30 drinking events are a lot of fun too.

All the guys from the staff are super cool, they all treated me with respect. The way they solve your problems is incredible, and it seems to be in the personal level, not just professionally.
The kitchen is also very nice and the environment to meet other backpackers is also excellent.
The bathrooms and toilets are also very clean and I didn't have any problems with hygiene there.
