Liked: the tv-room and the friendly atmosphere. the beds were comfortable.

Disliked: the room was dirty and a lot of long-term guest, means a lot of stuff in the room and they woke up very early in the morning.

Liked: Big rooms with lots of storage space. Friendly staff.

Liked: The Original Backpacker's is the best place to be in Sydney. The hostel offers great entertainment with pub nights, bbqs, TV nights etc... and you can be sure to find new friends over there. We had an amazing time there!

Disliked: There's absolutely nothing we disliked.

Liked: The fact I came back to this hostel a second time should speak volumes. Very friendly place with events every night. 24 hour reception makes life easy. TV room is good with a pretty decent dvd selection available.

Liked: Very friendly and helpful staff.

Disliked: I have to walk up and down the stairs, crossed several toilets and bathrooms, kitchens and pantry before I finally reached my room. Not to mention the on and off shelter along the way against the rain. Worst of all, I had a bad fall while trying to carry my luggage down one of the unsheltered stairs.

Liked: The location is amazing for partying! The staff offers every night tours to clubs located in the appropriate area. Very clean bathrooms for a hostel in this environment.

Disliked: little waterpressure in the showers

Liked: Helpful staff, fairly quiet. Free drink tickets (usually one or two drinks) almost every night of the week. BBQ was also pretty good - there was slim pickings for second servings. Place was fairly neat, decent shower/hot water/bathroom.

Disliked: Internet was rather expensive - $15 for 10 hours/1 gb. I didn't pay for it- went to a cafe down the street since everyone complained it was also slow. For the price of the room I think this should be included. Bunks were just ok- mattress was pretty hard and a little lumpy but bearable.

Liked: Clean room and really nice staff. The location is also good and near some nice restaurants.

Disliked: It can be a little noisy when your room is near the courtyard where the kitchen and eating area is located but with earplugs this doesn't have to be a problem!

Liked: The staff were top notch and were always there ready to help with any queries that you may have had. The location is very good as both the harbour and the Sydney City centre are within half an hour on foot which is more than acceptable

Disliked: The showers that are round the corner from room 25 could be improved by perhaps putting a shower tray as the floors do get very wet and there is only one hook on the door which means sometimes things may have to be put on the floor.

Liked: I booked my own room with bathroom. The facilities were clean and tidy, and I felt very safe. Location was superb and the staff were so friendly and helpful with anything you needed. I would definitely go back there to stay! Great atmosphere and there is plenty going on with nights out to pubs and bars around Sydney. A shuttle picks you up right outside the Backpackers to take you to the airport! Well worth every cent

Liked: Staff is extremely cordial and willing to help with any questions. There are events and deals posted nightly for occupants to attend. Great location and I always felt safe and secure while staying there.

Disliked: the room had a slight smell to it.

Liked: Nightly activities - easy to meet people. Quiet after 10 pm - and they strictly enforce this. Appeared clean to me. In Kings Cross (this could be a plus or a minus), pretty close to the train station.

Disliked: They advertise free shuttle from the airport, but in my case, it never came. I ended up waiting 2 hrs at the airport. To the hostel's credit, though, I was reimbursed for my train ticket and received free upgrade & 2 hrs of Internet time. Also I thought the hostel was on the more expensive side compared to some others in the area.
