Liked: The atmosphere was good, good front room with comfy sofas, nice pool and BBQ, staff were very helpful and friendly, rooms were spacious with places to hang clothes, bathrooms were clean and modern, kitchen was very clean and modern with everything you need, close to shops but a 40 min walk from surfers paradise or a 5 dollar bus.

Disliked: none really, just was far away from nightlife but you can get bus or walk easily enough.

Liked: The staff were very friendly and if you are travelling by yourself (as I was) they make sure you're included in everything if you want to be. I felt instantly at home and after several days of homesickness that was important. Pool looked good, although I didn't actually use it and the free courtesy pick up was a god send.

Disliked: It was about a 10 minute car/bus journey away from the CBD, which is a bit inconvenient as it's not really walking distance. There is a free shuttle bus that runs every 2 hours between 10am and 6pm, but as I went into the city on the night time and caught my bus before 10am the next day, I ended up having to catch some public transport. There are other hostels which are centrally located for around the same price if not less. Also, the room was like an oven and the beds were extremely uncomfortable.

Liked: This hostel isn't worth its price! The room I stayed in was too tiny. We even didn't have enough space for our luggage. The centre and beach were too far away. Walking distance about 45 min. Bus fare costs about $ 3.90 one way. The hostel offered a free shuttle to Surfers Paradise (hostel is located in Southport) but the last one was at 6 pm and that was too early if you wanted to go out. I would not stay here again.

Liked: Oh my god, where do I start with this place? Don't set a foot wrong as 'you will lose your key deposit' - you can't walk an inch without seeing another warning sign! And the owner doesn't see fit to equip or staff the place properly. There is only ONE toilet and and shower for ALL the men here, there were NO staff on xmas day, the kitchen is too small and there is no a/c. All too often backpackers must simply 'put up' with the accommodation that is available to them, well considering the temperature here this is simply unacceptable. This place is vastly under-equipped and in my mind badly managed.

Liked: I had a really great stay at this Hostel, Its very clean i dont know what the other person is talking about which wrote before, its the cleanist hostel ive EVER stayed in. The staff are very friendly, the bar has a great atmosphere with cheap alcohol. I am going back to the Gold Coast and will definately stay here again.

Liked: This hostel was friendly and had great facilities. However the cleanliness was very poor. when i entered my room, i couldn't even tell which bed was vacant as all of them had used sheets on them. I am from australia and hav backpacked all around europe and i've never had that experience before, i was quite embarrassed that that is what is offered to overseas guests in my own country

Liked: the people were really friendly. it was very clean and the staff was really nice. its nice and small so its really easy to meet people. they have nightly events going on at the hostel as well so it gets people talking where they may have been to shy to on their own.
