Global Backpakers is a Brand New Upmarket Style 50 bed Hostel located on the Main St of Port. This is the best location in town, 100m walk to 4 Mile Beach, shopping, restaurants, bars, marina and markets all at your doorstep. This stylish modern property has everything you need.

Port Douglas is the gateway to the Great Barrier Reef and The World Heritage Rainforest, 4 Mile Beach and The Sunday Markets. Many a movie has also been filmed here due to its beauty.

A beautifully designed open-plan kitchen, lounge/ TV area that lets you experience tropical living with views of the picturesque Port Douglas by day and night. For the Sports Fans a large plasma screen showing all Foxtel and Setanta sports. Which means you never have to miss a match. We bring it to you live 24hrs a day!

The rooms are modern, spacious, air-conditioned, fans, security swipe keys and your beds are made for you with linen supplied. All private rooms are en-suited and spacious. A large guest shower/ toilet facilities means hot showers and no crowding. We also have a beautiful outdoor deck to chill-out on and read a book..

Downstairs...Bored with upstairs then venture down and experience our great bar. Rattle n Hum rocks and offers a great menu which includes wood fired pizza's, pool tables, friendly staff and all your favorite sports channels (fox & setanta)... Great atmosphere best location and we have daily drink and meal specials for all in house guests (just show your room key)....

Accommodation Information

We have 4,6,10 bed dorms which are mixed and female only. All rooms are security swipe keys.

The dorm rooms have linen supplied, beds made for you, innerspring mattresses, funky, clean, spacious, A/C, fans, mirror and shelves.

The double rooms are simple, clean, A/C, fans, Linen, modern and En-suite.

There are plenty of showers and toilets with separate male and female facilities.

The guest kitchen and lounge area opens onto an outside balcony which has views over the main street and mountains back drop. This is a great place to kick back and enjoy tropical living.
We also have cable TV(fox,setanta) on our plasma TV so can watch all the big games live GAA, football, rugby and more....

Location Information

We are situated in the main st of Port Douglas where all the festivities are. Walk out your doorstep into great restaurants, nightlife, shopping, supermarket, Sunday markets, marina, waterfront and the famous 4 Mile beach.
Shuttle busses drop off and pick up from our door.

Port Douglas is home to Rainforest Habitat where you can have breakfast or lunch with the birds, snorkel or dive on the Great Barrier Reef, go fishing, learn all about Aboriginal with Adventure North on one of there 1,2 or 3 day tours. The list goes on; just speak to us when you arrive if you would like some advice.
