Liked: The location near the beach was good and right by Coles Supermarket.

Disliked: you have to pay $1 for a 4 minute shower which I think is ridiculous. Half of the showers are not good and barely work so a few times I lost my dollar because the water pressure was so bad I couldn't even have a shower! Also the room we stayed in was so messy and dirty and it smelled. There was no air con or fan so the room was very stuffy. It is a long way out of the city on the bus. Also the kitchen is way too small for so many people you cannot move in there and it closes really early at 9pm! The hostel was not good at all the only thing that made up for it were friendly people.

Liked: I enjoyed my stay very much. Met many cool people and watched the sunset everyday.. The beach is very close. The hostel itself is quite basic and simple, but they are repairing and making some new stuff at the moment.

Disliked: Hot shower costs you 1$ per 4 minutes, which is a joke. Had cold showers for 6 days. Free wifi and some free food doesn't make that up.

Liked: location of the beach and grocery store. Staff was very friendly. Internet was free and worked very well

Disliked: office hours were terrible I arrived 5 mins after 12 and couldn't check in till 4. Had to wait till 9am to check out when I had a flight to catch. Kitchen closes at 9pm at night and doesn't open till 7 am which was difficult for me being a diabetic.

Liked: I like that the staff would have a conversation with you about your trip and offer their advice on where to go. It was really helpful

Disliked: That you had to pay $1 for 4minutes of hot water - yes there may have been a drought and the electric may cost a lot but 4 is just an odd amount of time! What's wrong with 5 or even 10 minutes? I also think the cost for the washing machines/dryers were quite high.

Liked: Beach is 2 minutes away.

Disliked: Few security lockers. Place needs a fair few repairs. $20 deposit for key and another $20 deposit for cultery and plates. Mattresses were old and looked unhygenic. Showers cost $1 dollar for 4 minutes of hot water.

Liked: Leaving

Disliked: The noise - people were up talking, including the staff, all night. The walls were like paper so it was like you were outside with them, we hardly slept at all. There were only 2 very small lockers between 6 people in the rooms, nowhere safe to leave your bags. Dining room was tiny, they do not have enough space for lots of people. You had to pay for hot water for a shower. Overall its a very unwelcoming hostel that everyone should avoid. Obviously as backpackers you get used to shabby rooms but this really was horrendous.

Liked: A beautiful beach is just across the road.

Disliked: The reception. He was rude. I did not like his manners. There were only two working showers for the all hostel's guest. It is quite far for the city centre and to get there from the airport it costed me $40.

Liked: NOTHING! Definely don't go there!

Disliked: THE OWNER STOLE ME MY DOLLARS DEPOSIT becausI didn't check out 24hours in advance. The staff is really rude, not helpfull, and the atmosphere is not good, lot of stuff disappears by the way... No facilities, the kichen is realy small and close at 9 PM, you need to pay 1 dollar for 4 minute shower... THE WORST HOSTEL OF AUSTRALIA ACCORDING TO ME!!!!

Liked: Location is great, close to beautiful beaches and shops

Disliked: Had to put down deposit to check out cutlery. Seems like making sure everyone washes their dishes and such is a part of running a hostel but this management couldn't be bothered to at the guests expense. Also had to pay for hot water in the shower which they say is to help conserve water yet they freely water the gardens and there's no capping of how much cold water you use. Seems like if the environment were their real concern they would but a liter cap on how much you get for a shower or something that would actually conserve water not heating bills. Also, they have about 8 refrigerators so you'd think there'd be enough space but no, because there aren't enough shelves, everything is just piled onto the few shelves that exist. And they apparently want more fridges...just get some more shelves! Cheaper and uses mush less energy! Of the three sinks in the kitchen, one works. Not enough for the number of people that they cater to. No wonder they were having problems with people washing their dishes.

Liked: Staff were very helpful and friendly

Disliked: Rooms stank of smoke. There were very few fascilities - e.g. no knives or much else in the kitchen, no internet, no lockers... (although they were in the process of renovating, so hopefully things will improve)

Liked: Beautiful Beach..... best position right on the coast. Beach was at the doorstep and I had a surf lesson...I am addicted. Definately stay there again.

Disliked: Although the building is old they are doing a lot of renovations.

Liked: Nothing the beds had itchy blankets and the kitchen and shower areas were shabby. The owner could spend a bit of money on it to tidy it up.

Liked: Awesome place on the Beach, surfing was great , great weather , cool staff and really great place to "chill out". Will go back and stay at Perth Beach YHA (Indigo) anytime.
