Liked: Location and price

Disliked: the room doesn't have heater so that we were freezing cold at night. And the common shared shower rooms don't have a door, only separated by curtains. It surely doesn't provide any privacy when showering

Disliked: The room we were in was left extremely messy. The showers weren't amazing either, there is limited privacy in them.

Liked: Tired from travelling, I could sleep my first nights in Australia there. Location is good, walking distance to the center. After check-out I could leave my stuff in the luggage room for a while.

Disliked: Inernet access is expensive. You have to pay extra for dishes rental. Rooms where cold (in winter).

Liked: I stayed in the girls dorm, met some really nice girls. Breakfast was basic, but it was free. It's got everything; tv, awesome kitchen, bar etc, it's just run down. So as long as you don't expect 5* then it's good.

Disliked: It's just run down and needs an overhaul. Also, there was only one girls toilet? And the staff didn't really explain anything, it was just left up to the long-term residents to tell you where stuff was etc.

Liked: central location,staff nice enough,clean enough,for the price it provides what your paying for,dont expect 5 star for 29 bucks. i read some earlier comments about it not being clean enough but the cleaners clean it then its up to the patrons to keep it clean for the next 24 hours,dont expect little cleaning elves to be running around behind you.

Disliked: some rooms dont have windows with natural air,could use air con at night.

Liked: Nothing, only the free breakfast but too late

Disliked: no real airconditionning, no staff there before 8:30 am, too many people are staying for longer periods, showers and especially kitchen very dirty

Liked: It has a good kitchen and free breakfast

Disliked: Not enough toilets, no air con, messed up our booking and put myself and my boyfriend in separate rooms which they couldn't change, The bar didn't seem to open and is more like a cellar. No lockers in the rooms. It's very expensive for what you get.

Liked: Not a bad hostel, lots are based in Northbridge but the location of 1201 was more convenient. Free breakfast saved money, my room was really large and only 6 people in it. Fun place to meet people, tv room with dvd player. Staff were best part of hostel.

Disliked: The hostel was dirty, including my room, the bathrooms, and the kitchen area. If you walk from the city centre to the hostel it takes over 15mins. I checked out early (change of plans) and no refund was given.

Liked: Clean hostel only about a 15 minute walk into the centre of town. Generally very quiet at night, friendly helpful staff. Free breakfast helped save a bit of cash. Not many showers but despite this we never had to queue for one.

Disliked: Air con was only on during the night and switched off about 8am. This wasn't really a problem for us however because we didn't spend much time there during the day. The hostel looks dated but don't let that put you off.

Liked: In the CBD, with bus stop out side of entrance and shops near by.

Disliked: When I first arrived they didn’t have our booking on record, luckily there was still availability. There was no air conditioning in the room we stayed in (even though the website sad they provided air conditioning). We just had a tiny fan that didn’t rotate and a small window (in comparison with the room size) so the room was very hot. The showers drainage was pretty bad as there was constantly quite a lot of water on floors. We were told off by a lady for being up after 11pm even though there was no curfew. There is also no mention of towels for hire on the website (if I had known I wouldn’t had packed one).

Liked: Its a decent location with plenty of facilities, it offers all of the stuff that you would expect at place of this price, its a bit smaller than other hostels (only around 40 beds), this can be a good and bad thing.

Disliked: Charging for the use of Wi-fi is a pet hate of mine especially having travelled through Asia, since the hostel obtained its licence guests are banned from bringing in cheap alcohol to drink rather being forced to buy the expensive stuff sold by the hostel. This by all accounts this has realy killed the social scene here which is a real shame because with this it could be top rate

Liked: The location was fantastic! The group night outs are fun as I was travelling by myself and was able to meet people quite easily.

Disliked: Although the majority of staff were great there was an older russian lady that was quite rude. Also the pin code was changed on the code and I was lokced out.

Liked: Free breakfast was a bonus for money saving. Big kitchen with all you need. The hostel is really convenient for getting into Perth as its just down the road from a red cat stop. (cat are free buses that take you into and round the central business district and the city centre)

Disliked: The walls between the rooms are paper thin so its quite noisy. The windows in the room we stayed in didn't open abut as it was winter we didn't need it open. There is a fan that you could operate. The accomodation is over 3 floor and the bedroom I shared was on the third florr and the showers are on the first so you have to walk past reception to get to them.

Liked: This hostel was one of the best hostels I ever stayed with. It is VERY clean, the staff is friendly and helpful, you can book a lot of different tours and they help you to find one which suits you the best! The people staying there are really awsome! Everyone is welcome and people do activities together (BBQ, Wild Wednesday in the Mustang Bar, going out for dinner etc.). The hostel is very familiar and not anomynous! You walk 15 minutes into town or you can catch the Red Cat which drives you directly into the city and it is for FREE :) Near the hostel are many different restaurants located and also the Grosvenor Hotel where you can have some drinks. and also bar food which is really yummy :) All in all I had a awsome time and I can really recommend it. It is also not a noisy hostel which means that you can get enough sleep but the people are still havig fun and are partying together....
