What did you like: Family run so really friendly people who are really eager to help and give advice. Gave us lifts to and from the bus to their hostel - even took us to see some wallabies - "why not?" really clean nice kitchen which always helps - great location almost right on the beach (and what a beach!) right on the main drag (which is small and quiet but still has fun bars) oh and a really cute dog!

We are the ONLY hostel accommodation right in the centre of town, which provides you with the most convenient access to all shops in the beachside village. A supermarket, restaurants, bars, takeaways, post office, news agency, and souvenirs are all right next door. In other words, no waiting for courtesy buses—you can walk to everything.

But the best part about the convenience of Mission Beach Retreat is that we are also right next to the beach! Mission Beach is one of the most beautiful, unspoilt beaches on the entire east coast of Queensland.

Mission Beach is surrounded by Wet Tropics World Heritage rainforest, and flanked by a long golden beach. There are numerous walking tracks through the rainforest, where you can explore the region and maybe even sight an endangered Southern Cassowary.

Luscious rainforest, a fishing jetty, secluded beaches, tennis courts, bird watching, kangaroo spotting, and coconut eating are all within walking distance of Mission Beach Retreat.

But if relaxing is more your style, then you need not worry. You could spend a lifetime—in fact, some have—just lazing on the beach, occasionally taking a dip in the pool, and soaking up the sensual, tropical lifestyle.
