Liked: Friendly laid-back staff, flexible with bookings, quiet at night!Location is ok, but you will need to take the tram to go to the city center.

Liked: The owner was very friendly and helpful all the time without being intrusive in any way. We originally booked for four nights but ended up staying over a week we loved it so much. Very relaxed and comfortable atmosphere - a home from home, highly reccommended.

Liked: Close to transport, shops, and the city and other attractions, but still in a reasonably quiet location. Very minimal traffic/ environmental noises, yet so close to Smith St and Brunswick St for nightlife, etc.Special commendation for staffer Paul, grace under fire in even the most difficult and inconvenient situations!

Liked: The staff are very friendly, make you feel welcome and at home on arrival, give good advice/ask how you are, and are easygoing on most things like checkout times etc, and don't grab your money like so many other hostels I could mention. Good example is the free internet.Okay it's not central but if you stay in Collingwood you get a great feel for a funky side of Melbourne and it's good for trams etc. Well worth the extra distance to get away from the souless city centre places. And for the first time in my hosteling around the world, 2 pillows on a bed!!!If I need a bed in Melbourne again, I'll be back at Collingwood Accomodation.

Liked: If you're into real backpacker's atmosphere, don't even think about goin somewhere else.the personal atmosphere, the rooms being fully furnitured (yes, fully), free internet access, the cheapest drink machine in town (one dollar a can), the location in a stylish alternative part of the city with a lot of bars n clubs around (no commercial ish), the more than adequate rates
