Liked: It was really nice, clean, nice staff and a good location in St. Kilda! Only stayed there for two nights but it was really relaxed!

Liked: Stayed at the Habitat because the location seemed good, but it wasn't really. It was a good 15 minute walk to Acland Street and St Kilda Beach and the same to Fitzroy Street. It was really clean though and had great facilities and there were lots of travellers around.

Liked: This was an amazing property to stay at! The quality of our guestroom exceeded my expectations and the extra ammenities were a great added touch. Upon check-in we were provided with one hour free of internet access - what a awesome guesture! The staff at Habitat HQ were very friendly and always willing to help. A staff member was outside of the property each evening to confirm that we were a current guest and each floor required key access - all of these security measures made me feel very safe and comfortable.

Liked: Everything was great at Habitat HQ. It was supperbly clean, and the facilities were new and well maintained. I stayed in an all female dorm which was good, but there was an unwanted male guest that spent the night. Besides that, it was really great.ThanksCanada

Liked: Great hostel, excellent value for money. Huge kitchen (no breakfast, though). Easy place to meet new people. 2 minutes walk from tram-station, $ 20 cab from the city (even late in the night).

Liked: staff were awesome and honest about the prostitues in the area! security at nigth meant i always felt super safe. facilities were good and the interior is cheery. nice and close to the beach too, really is a 10 min walk, despite what some of the other reviews said (they must have gone the long way - and to be fair, there is a long way).

Liked: very clean, especially impressed that they wash the duvet covers after every guest (stayed in a lot of hostels where they don't) . staff were very helpful with local information.

Liked: Good big kitchen. Clean hostel. Never had to wait for shower/toilet. Great air con in dorms. Fast internet. Only downside were the squeaky shaky bunkbeds, but I guess you get that in almost every hostel! Location is so-so, great if you want to go to the beach all the time, but tram to the city centre takes about 15mins, and a single trip costs $3.70. So if you want to be in the centre, choose another hostel. Otherwise this hostel is really good. Really friendly staff.

Liked: They had the cleanest hostel showers I have ever used and I have stayed in about 40 hostels at least! The beds were also comfortable and the vending machines were helpful when coming home at 2am and in need of some snacks and water :)We had an additional person added to our booking and had email confirmation of this - I also rang to confirm and when we got there we were treated like they knew nothing about it and were so busy could possibly not house our friend too - this is unacceptable seeing as though i had written confirmation and phoned to check.

Liked: The hostel itself is great, excellent facilities and cleanliness, nice comfy beds, good bathrooms. Downsides:- the a/c only goes down to 24' (which is too hot for me on a hot night), and the rowdy crowd can be a bit too much, but if you like that sort of party atmosphere this is the right place. Location is good for St Kilda, and a short tram into the city.

Liked: Probably the cleanest hostel I've ever stayed in. The staff were reasonable, helpful and an all around good time. Big, open common area. There were regular events, from poker night to Saturday brunch organized by the hostel which always gave you social options for things to do.

Liked: Luggage storage room is very small and badly organised as people just dump their stuff in there. Door to luggage room did not require a security key which meant anyone could get to the luggage.Couldn't find a remote for our TV on the first night.Need to state more clearly last pickup time from the airport - only said call from airport before buying a ticket.Staff were very friendly and helpful. Room was HUGE! Facilities within room were great, very comfortable and felt like a hotel more than a hostel.
