Liked: - Free basic breakfast - helpful travel desk (when they were around!) - the hostel runs events every night and tries to get everybody involved.

Disliked: - choice of either wifi or computer use. If you want both then you have to pay for both - the travel desk was manned not early or long enough (usually between 10-4pm which is no use if you're out the whole day doing something) - VERY squeaky beds

Liked: Lovely, clean toilets and showers and enough of them! Bed clothes were nice and warm, though beds a little squeeky. Paying attention to environmental issues a BIG bonus. Unfortunately, not everyone understands the instructions... Showers and water running all the time and people not recycling. :(

Disliked: Messy kitchen, but that's not like the Habitat HQ didn't try to influence the backpackers - there were notes and signs everywhere. More dry kitchen towels needed. And new cutting boards. A little noisy, but didn't affect sleep. Hard to fit in, because the place is packed with people who've been staying there for ages. Not a very friendly atmosphere.

Liked: Nice place in a great location by the tram station that takes you right into Melbourne. They have a nice communal area, tv room and outside area to hang out. 200 mb of included Internet is also good. Some staff was warm and approachable. I would return.

Disliked: After coming from Asia where most places take the shoes off at the door, it did feel a little dirty. But I think that is because that's just the norm to wear shoes inside. The internet was a bit finicky and it was a bit of a hassle to have to log into the Internet every time you wanted to use it. Most of the staff were just neutral, neither very friendly or cold, but did not seem to want to offer help any more than minimally required.

Liked: It was really clean and in a great area in St.Kilda, a 2min walk to the tram to get it into Melbourne city. The staff were really helpful and had a lot of give away nights and free walking tours. They also paid for our shuttle bus from the Airport, if you stay more than 3nights. Theres also free wi-fi, which is really hard to come by in Oz.

Disliked: The wi-fi connection wasn't great

Liked: Everything is brand new and I think each room has it's own bathroom which is really nice and clean. It's in a good location to catch the tram into the city and walk to St. Kilda attractions.

Disliked: There's nothing to see/do in the immediate surrounding area. Everything is about a 10-15 minute walk. That being said, it's really central so if you want to see St. Kilda and the city it's a good choice and don't think you can beat the cleanliness of the rooms/bathrooms.

Liked: I had a double room to myself ensuite with TV and bedside radio. It was pricey but suited me fine - quiet, spacious, with easy access to Melbourne. Breakfast was basic (bread and cereal) but kitchen lloked clean and airy. Staff full of enthusiasm (pub Crawl, open mic) and very helpful. I'd go back.

Disliked: Nothing.

Liked: Loved almost everything about the hostel. Would recommend it to anyone and would definitely stay there again.

Disliked: It's in St Kilda, like most of the hostels in Melbourne. Using the computers is not free, like most of the hostels in Australia. Wifi is actually free, which in my opinion is normal for a hostel, but a lot of hostels in Australia this is actually not the case.

Liked: Staff were happy, warm & sunny people - really welcoming & helpful. Big communal area for chilling or sitting & talking; separate quiet area for movies and reading; outside garden area - with real plants & fresh herbs growing for anyone to use if they are inspired in cooking! Plenty of events to bring people together -and not just focused on pubcrawls; loved the local connection with CVA & trying to bring some eco & green awareness into backpackers lives

Disliked: Despite the notices on energy waste, water shortages & different bins for recycling there was still loads of waste - I guess this isn't the hostels fault but their efforts seemed to be lost on most people. Other than that - nothing to dislike :-)

Liked: a really lovely helpful lady on reception helped make my stay. They have good facilitites, wi-fi, tele, pool table. the rooms and bathrooms are clean and pleasant. The central areas have a nice, chilled out vibe.

Disliked: St. kilda is a really nice part of melbourne, but it is a little far out. The only way to get to twon is by tram, which as a bakcpacker on a tight buidget meant an extra 8 dollars a day. Not much but it can add up. Coles is nearby though as is the beach and most trips will pick you up from the hostel, so its not a major drawback.

Liked: Clean rooms, power points near your beds, lockable storage space under beds, clean showers and toilets.

Disliked: Computers not user friendly (can't save or use properly without admin account) and you have to pay 4 dollars to use them. Was told by one unhelpful employee its either 1 hour free computer use or free wifi. Not both. Kitchen can get v busy and not enough plates etc. Limited breakfast (til milk runs out!).

Liked: Free Wifi for laptop owners, good atmosphere with tons of activities to meet people. Its pretty good accomodation for the price you pay.

Disliked: Lockers dont have power adapters for safe charging, and the bunk beds are really noisy, the pillows are a bit unconfortable.. Also a little bit far from the city, but the tram systems is great
