Liked: The Bar and the activties

Disliked: The Cleaness and the anonymous of the people. One man peed in the room and nobody clean that, so thats very dirty and smelled like muck.

Liked: The hostel provided security lockers.

Disliked: A lot of people here are living and working in Melbourne, so it's not a great backpacking atmosphere. Most residents go to bed before 10PM, and the common room is so small that it is either always full, or everyone is watching TV with the lights off - very hard to strike up a conversation. In addition, there is no air conditioning. The only way to keep your room cool is to open a window, which will subject you to mosquitoes during the night.

Liked: Great location, very friendly staff and awesome food in the pub. The pub deals for hostel guests was great. The place was clean and we were right across the street from St. Kilda Junction, a great stop for getting basically anywhere.

Disliked: There are a lot of long term residents here making it a little hard to meet people. Not really a "party" hostel.

Liked: If your Irish, then you'll love the pub on the ground floor. If your looking for a long term place to stay, on the cheap, while you work in Melbourne, this will work as most people there were on "Working Holidays."

Disliked: If your a traveler, this isn't quite the place to stay. People were generally up late doing whatever. Not a good environment if you want to rest up for the next day bright and early (or before noon).

Liked: Great food and atmosphere in the bar ($10 steak and chips on my first night was very welcome!), friendly, helpful and gorgeous staff, laundry and internet facilities readily available, met great people, comfortable beds, plenty of showers, all kept in good condition, fantastic hostel all round!

Disliked: Quite a distance from the CBD but you can catch a tram or worst case scenario, the walk will do you good!

Liked: Well located, easy walk to St Kilda beach and the tram. The free breakfast served in the bar downstairs was good and they offered promotional meal deals in the evenings too.

Disliked: The kitchen was tiny with only a couple of pots and pans available.

Liked: Staff were helpful and friendly, the meal deals everyday were very good and nice sized portions. Breakfast was good also. Central position between Melbourne and St Kilda, it was a nice stroll into St Kilda and the tram stop into the city was literally across the road! I arrived and then were refurbing the girls only dorm so they upgraded me to a twin for free!

Disliked: It was mainly accepted by people working which waste a problem but they were very clicky and it was a little hard to make friends as a lone traveller unless you went into the pub down stairs. They were also a bit noisy when coming in after a night out!

Liked: Cheap drinks in the bar below and every day there is entertainment for guest in the bar.

Disliked: Sink in room was dirty and clogged all the time for no reason! Showers are filthy wouldnt go in there with the dirt of them! Bar below means its very loud on the streets all night especially on weekends!

Liked: The atmosphere in general, all people are in one way or the other interested in meeting new people, some people have been living here for 2-3 months, which meant they new a lot are were helpful. The staff downstairs at the bar is always smiling and very pleased to help you! If you are looking for a cozy atmosphere, a great place to meet new people and just want to have a pub where you can eat/drink cheaper when you stay, this is the place!

Liked: Across the road from St Kildas main tram stop to the city so plenty of trams, short walk to beach, Chapel St, Albert Park. Free Breakfast and $6 evening meals in the bar and drinks discounts. And great staff!
