Liked: Nice and friendly area of Melbourne. Shopping area in walking distance : abt 2km. Very friendly and helpfull staff and good possibility to get in contact with the other guests.

Disliked: The advised store room for luggage after check out does not exist anymore : luggage is stored now under staircase and might be accesed by everybody.

Liked: Nice and quiet location right next to the royal botanical gardens

Disliked: Not enough bathrooms, hot water was hit and miss

Liked: Great deco, nice staff, free breakfast daily, free pasta and rice, really clean, towels changed every day, nice garden area, laundry facilities, cant imagine better for a hostel Plus free wifi

Disliked: I wish there were couple of more toilets

Liked: st arnaud is not located in the city centre, so it isn´t so much noise, but it is also not far away from the city centre, very helpful staff

Disliked: its about 30minutes walk from the CBD but the trams are very frequent and a good cheap price

Liked: This character home south of the city is old, dusty, and cute. The location is great, and the staff are very helpful. We also really appreciated having access to a livingroom with digital TV and a kitchen.

Disliked: They charge for internet use, the kitchen closes at 9pm, and the building would get really loud if it was full. It was empty when we were there this August.

Liked: The cosy and homelike atmosphere. The kitchen is well equipped and theres lots of nice places to sit and relax. Its so close to the beautiful Botanical gardens. My room was warm and cosy.

Disliked: The noise of the trams going by till kidnight was a little annoying. I didnt like the distance from the city at first but after walking to the city through the gardens, I changed my mind.

Liked: NIce building in a good location within walking distance from town. Good kitchen and breakfast.

Disliked: When arrive we were put in the messiest dorm we have seen and could not stay in it. Didnt see anything as bad in 4 months in South America. When wanted to change dorm the girl was not helpful at all and said could only give us a twin room although the hostel appeared pretty quiet. Had no choice but to move into it which cost us a lot more, although it was a decent room. TV in it didnt really work though. Two of the foreign girls who worked there were really unhelpful and it seemed like a chore for them if anyone wanted to ask them a question. Hostel claims to be really helpful, but didnt get that impression.

Liked: The whole guest house is spacious and It had a spacious and comfortable TV room and dinning area. The free breakfast was good, and you get towels included. It also seemed pretty secure, and despite its flaws seemed good value for Melbourne.

Disliked: The place is a bit run down, and the dorms were dirty, they didn't seem to be cleaned. There was no lockers or cupboards in the dorms either. The staff were rude.

Liked: Free breakfast in the morning and nice and quiet at night. Free wifi and TV in rooms. Very clean and big bathrooms.

Disliked: Price, especially for double rooms. A bit of a walk from the city, and tram is expensive.

Liked: It is cozy, it is central, and there is rice and pasta and breakfast offered. The owner put much effort in decorating the hostel and the room with a lot of lovely pictures.
