Liked: The character of the building and the characters who inhabited and worked in it. Good location, close to all the cafes and shops of Fitzroy, and just a quick tram ride into the CBD. Excellent value. Would go back again in a flash!

Liked: Location was fab. staff very friendly and the atmosphere of the oild building is fantastic - and you get your own heater in the room - excellent! facilities were very clean aswell.

Liked: The building in which it is housed is beautiful with lots of original features. Great location close to Fitzroy , City and Lygon Street. St Kilda Tram on doorstep. The TV room is great with big leather sofas and a huge open fire, though those staying long term hog it as their own. Kitchen was a bit of a disaster- Too small and quite dirty. 3 bed dorms were the best.

Liked: I loved the character. The place really embraces its history as a convent. There's religious paraphanalia all over the place and the staff is referred to as "the Nuns." Plus, it offers a free breakfast every morning with pancakes on Sunday, free soup on Wednesday, and wine and nibblies on Friday night. It was so easy to meet people. I got there at 11 PM and immediately joined in with some kids drinking. While most travellers there are 20-somethings, there is a wide range of people staying at the hostel, which adds to the flavor.

Liked: Lovely little hostel with great charachter and very friendly. Rooms are a little small but adequate. Pub next door is excellant and for me is a huge sellign point to return!!
