Liked: The artistic charm of the Nunnery perfectly matches the district wherein it lies. The space itself is so decorative and enigmatic, lively yet full of tranquil, untouched corners that even a lonely traveller can find a sense of security and belonging there.

Liked: The Nunnery is a unique space with great staff. They were always helpful and I never had trouble getting directions or advice. Great stay.

Liked: Nice place to meet other travellers - Most of the staff were nice - one girl was a bit of a hard-arse though.Watch out you don't get there late - they don't have 24 hour check in!

Liked: I liked the location of the hostel. The staff were helpful & friendly. There are a lot of long term guests there who are also very friendly. The lounge was lovely and warm with the open fire. The free pancakes and breakfasts were really good. The kitchen needs a few more pots and pans and forks. Would reccommend this hostel. Enjoyed my stay here. Cheaper to book through hostelbookers than direct which I thought was strange but they did honour the lower price when I added on extra nights.

Liked: It's very special and unique, the house very cosy and friendly. Everything is easy e.g. well organised. People staying here are very individual in a positive way. You notice that they are taking care for everything, renovation, cleaning and so on. Give my best regards to the staff and the nuns.

Liked: This backpakers is fantastic. the staff is really friendly and the others travellers were fantastic too. the nunnery is really clean, no probs with the bathroom or toilet. The living, kitchen were cosy. the nunnery is a good place for travellers and the building is incredible...in Fiztroy a beautiful place in melbourne. we really enjoy our trip in Melbourne.

Liked: Threre was a mixup between hostelbookers and the hostel about availability, but it got sorted out in a friendly manner.

Liked: We stayed in the B&B. Loved our room on the ground floor opening onto courtyard. Kitchen facilities and the dining/lounge area well furnished. Breakfast was provided on first come first served basis - fresh bread and various spreads. Very close to the parts of Melbourne we wished to explore. Down side was parking, so we rapidly got rid of our hire car.

Liked: It was in a great location and the other backpackers were respectful of each other and pretty quiet. It does need some maintenance work done - e.g. Victoria is in a serious drought (their words) but there was a significant leak in our bathroom, I think from the heater, not the shower. The kitchen is small for the number of people.

Liked: I really liked the location of the hostel close enough to town, but also in touch with the trendier area of Fitzroy. It was in a lovely old building.
