Liked: I liked the rooms and the bar downstairs is good value for money. They have events on every night and it's a good way to meet people. The hostel is spotlessly clean and is really good value for money.

Disliked: The kitchen only has 3 pans for a whole hostel full of people, you have to wait all the time while people are cooking.

Liked: I liked the relative freedom of the no-curfew policy and the 24h reception, as well as the generally friendly atmosphere. Location was perfect, pretty much everything within an easy walking distance.

Disliked: The smell was occasionally pretty bad in places (a sort of pub/urine tinge in the air) but I suppose that comes with a bar.

Liked: i liked the people there, it was easy to meet lots of nice people and it was lots of fun, i liked the kitchen and that everybody eats together, the bar and the cheap drinks, and the travel service!

Disliked: i disliked not having a window in my room whereas on the website it says you always have one, and the bin in the kitchen was quite disgusting and smelt terrible!

Liked: Was quiet at nights, staff were awesome, super clean and never had to queue for showers.

Disliked: The mattresses were really shocking. Everything else was so great but the uncomfy beds are enough to make me think i wouldn;t be staying again.

Liked: Nice atmosphere and good place to meet people. Located close enough to everything in Melbourne.

Disliked: No free WiFi. The breakfast could have been better, but I guess I should not complain as it was free.

Liked: Good location in Melbourne with a short 10-15 minute walk into the center. Nice bar with drinks deals. Friendly staff always willing to help. Rooms and toilets spacious and clean

Disliked: Most of the people who stay here are long termers working in Australia so it is quite cliquey so it is harder to meet people than in others

Liked: Lot's of things to doe eg, Bar, t.v. and games. Good space in rooms and lockers with power point. People staying there were social and respectful. Staff were helpful and there is free food.

Liked: I like the key system, I felt very safe. I liked the sitting room but there should have been more couches and chairs

Disliked: the 4$ internet useing for one houer - it´s not much for travelers when they are away for such a long time and you can have it cheaper in the city

Liked: Like: professional security, cleanliness, bar with a lot of opportunities

Disliked: Dislike: too big (you must be open-minded to get to know new people) -> usualy nobody says "hello" to you Hate: the WIFI-Internet-Access -> I thought before it's free but it' cost 6 $ per hour (such a price seems nowadays impertinent)

Liked: It was quite a good location, as it was in between St Kilda and the CBD. Great that you get free breakfast and pasta and rice. Staff were very helpful

Disliked: Internet, could be a nightmare sometimes, either out of order computers or slow!

Liked: Urban Central Backpackers is a great place to stay it is in a good location and cheap if you book ahead several weeks. There is a different theme each night in the bar and the staff seemed always happy to help out.

Disliked: Kitchen opened and closed at sporadic times and the free food was always very cheap stuff that was gone instantly. Besides that there was no other issues

Liked: The four-bed dorm rooms were nice and private. The facilities themselves were great, but...

Disliked: ...the hostel is way too big for its own good. There were not enough kitchen utensils/bowls/plates/cups for everyone. It was always a hunt to find something clean. The staff did a great job at trying to keep it clean, but the extremely rude guests did not clean up after themselves while we were there. The tables were always dirty, and beer bottles, cups, and dishes were left everywhere. We stayed on the second floor, and our room was near a TV lounge which was loud and also faced an outside smoking area. Too loud.

Disliked: When one person in our group wanted to check in alone before the rest of the group he was forced to pay for everyone. This was not stated anywhere. Blond girl at counter was not nice to him.

Disliked: Room had no windows and smelled TERRIBLE. Had to keep the door open for ventilation & to try to empty the bad odour out.

Liked: Great Kitchen facilities, clean rooms and bathrooms, fantastic security, very fun bar, great place to meet people.

Disliked: I paid about twice the normal rate because The Ashes were on the next day, however I was in a four-person dorm by myself so I'm not sure they were busy enough to justify this huge price increase.

Liked: The location is okay and close to Crown Casino and can walk to Southern Cross Station too.

Disliked: When I was checking out I asked the Man Staff to call a taxi for me and he told me to sit and wait for about an hour after that I asked again but this time the Woman Staff told me that it's to long and it's easier to wave the hand in front of the Hostel instead. So...., I searched 13CABS App on my iPhone and registered it then booking through this option was faster and the taxi came just in 5 minutes. Oh.., when I was checking in they also asked me to wait for 2PM because I was there at 1.30PM but when it's 2PM they did not tell me to check-in and I had to ask them again at almost 3PM.

Liked: This place just rocks...a party atmosphere every night...an amazing place to meet great fellow travellers and working holidayers...just simply superb 5 nights stay....will be coming back soon.
