About Melbourne Metro YHA
Melbourne Metro YHA has an undercover rooftop lounge and BBQ area with amazing panoramic views of the city. Self catering in our large guest kitchen is easy, or you can head to Metro Café - open for breakfast and dinner, serving affordable and tasty meals daily. Hostel facilities include high speed YHA Connect Internet, Wi-Fi, Skype, ATM, TV lounges and a huge dining area. Bikes can be hired from reception, and there is limited on-site undercover secure parking available for a small charge.
Back at the hostel, guests can enjoy free weekly tour information nights, wine and cheese nights, rooftop BBQs or pick a book from the book exchange. Reception is open 24 hours, and here you can book affordable tours to Victoria’s best locations, including Phillip Island to see the penguins, the Grampians National Park, Mornington Peninsula, Yarra Valley wineries and of course the Great Ocean Road!
Guests can choose from a range of bed types, including 4, 6, and 8 multishare, twin/double rooms with optional ensuite, and family rooms. We can also book groups of up to 120 people, ideal for schools, sporting groups and international exchange programs.
YHA focus on guest safety, with electronic door locks fitted on all rooms and lockers available in all multishare rooms. We do ask that you bring your own lock, but if you forget, don’t worry; we have locks available for purchase at reception. We also have CCTV cameras throughout the hostel for peace of mind.

Melbourne Metro is located on Howard Street in leafy North Melbourne. It's an easy walk into the CBD, or the tram is at the end of the street which takes you straight into the city.
Errol Street is close by to the hostel, which has everything you need including supermarket, chemist, cafes and restaurants. The Queen Victoria Market is also just around the corner, and a must see for anyone visiting Melbourne. Other major attractions include the Melbourne Zoo, Federation Square, Melbourne Aquarium, ACMI, MCG, Docklands and more. Plus there are endless hidden laneways, cafes, bars and restaurants.
The friendly staff at Melbourne Metro YHA will be able to assist you with getting around Melbourne, and you can even buy your public transport tickets at the hostel. You'll also receive a free Melbourne map on arrival so you won't get lost exploring this beautiful city.
Getting around Melbourne is simple, with a tram stop located just 500m from the hostel, and the nearest Skybus Airport Shuttle Bus stop is just 50 meters walk. The free Melbourne Visitor Shuttle Bus stop is only 5 minutes walk from the hostel, and loops Melbourne’s best attractions including the NGV International, ACMI, Federation Square, MCG, Eureka Skydeck, Polly Woodside, Chinatown and more!
