Liked: By far one of the greatest hostels I've stayed at. Staff were completely friendly and incredibly helpful. Place is chock-a-block with character. Fantastic environment. Will definitely be recommending and staying there again.

Liked: Pat is very invinting and welcoming. He was very helpful, giving us map and information.He was also very generous, I did help with some cleaning and he gave me a free accomodation!. How nice of him, this was over my expectation.The location is great and the hostel is friendly. Lot of long term guests.

Liked: the staff were very friendly and helpful and the other people staying there were friendly too. its a great place to meet people and a great location, close to everything but not completely central so its not too noisy.

Liked: A very very good hostel. Met the most amazing people and hope that I can stay in touch. Has a lot of character, great staff, and reasonably good location. Close to St Kilda but also close enough to city.

Liked: the owner, pat, is a really great man.. there is everything that you need in Lords lodge backpackers hostel. clean kitchen, lounge with dvds,a barbecue place, enough bathrooms.the staff are very nice people.the center is just 5 min by train or 30 min walking. many parks next to the hostel.is a beautifull place to stay and enjoy melbourne.

Liked: Patrick was extremely helpful. He tried three companies in order to book the Philip Island tour for us. When we took other people's bag by mistake at the end of the tour, he took extra effort to send the bag to the owner and get ours back. We were so moved by his help.He asked us to take a look at the room next door when it became vacant, since some people liked that one better. We did and we moved to that one. We had a very tight schedule, so he helped us book the taxi for airport.The location of the hostel was very convenient. And the best of all, the staff was so knowledgeable and helpful, that it was definitely the No. 1 choice in Melbourne.

Liked: Excellent location, very close to tram and train, nice district with many bars around, 5 minutes to the park, close to St Kilda Beach. The Staff is VERY friendly and helpful. A perfect place to stay and discover Melbourne!

Liked: The hostel was very family-like. While it was close to everything, it was far enough from the city centre to seem a bit small-town which was a great place to start our journey. The rooms were the perfect size for what we needed and everyone was very friendly. The owners were extremely helpful in helping us in the first steps to settling down in Australia (not just Melbourne). Also, it was a great place to meet people and everyone who was staying there seemed so fond that they didn't want to leave! We would have opted to stay longer had they had vacancies.
