Liked: Total budget hostel. From my experience, the cons weighed out the pros. However, I was happy with the staff most of the time. Although wasn't too impressed when one lady made me wait in line for 45 minutes in my towel just to get my key fixed. The food at the cafe was pretty nice though, good value for money. The bar downstairs is pretty chilled out.

Disliked: Wouldn't recommend it if you are looking for a quiet place to stay, this would be more of a budget kind of hostel. The rooms are massive, and a lot of the times there will be drunken old people that make lots of noise in your room and you just wanna stab them. The lockers are tiny, no point in even putting anything in there. My food got stolen 90% of the time. Kitchen isn't all that clean. My key also stopped working at least 5 times a day. Internet was slow.

Liked: I have stayed 3 times feel safe and comfortable and clean enough. Kitchen not so great but everything was working. I missed breakfast every time but its good they put this on. I like that they put events on too.

Disliked: Its huge so harder to meet people. Showers are probably dirtiest thing about the place and you feel like everyone can see you through the doors a little. Also the building site next door is very noisy!

Liked: Free Breakfast and Wifi. Rooms were big enough. Friendly and helpfull staff. Rooftop was nice!

Disliked: Just one bathroom and one toilet for each gender each floor.

Liked: Nothing it was the worst place we have stayed at.

Disliked: Dirty beds. They told us we had to change the sheets. We paid for a smaller dorm but they put us in an 8 bed. Very unhelpful. Not safe. I felt like I was in prison for the night.

Liked: Refund of shuttle bus was perfect

Disliked: We booked a double room which they gave us one right next to the boys toilets and showers. The toilet door made a horrible noise and when we asked for them to fix it it took them 3 days. So 3 days with no sleep. The room was very small for the price. They offer free wifi but it never worked. And even with the paid internet that didnt work. Overall cleanliness was poor. And they had a big building job going on to the side of the building right outside our room which i think we should have been warned about prior to booking.

Liked: It's not the marriot but it's a good hostel. Facilities, breakfast and everything is a good value for money. 9/10!!

Liked: Great location, really good bar, pretty cool roof garden.

Disliked: Only one slow lift meaning it can take 20 minutes just to nip back to the room! Also the keycards often dont work, annoying at 2am.

Liked: Staff behind reception were friendly. The Monday comedy night was good fun and free! Close to everything in the Melbourne CBD. Free airport transfer was also good.

Disliked: Kitchen was a mess! Way too many food bags and no room in the fridge to put anything. Found a food bag with the check out date being over 3 months ago!! Room was very hot and too small for 16 people. I had top bunk without any stairs. Outside our dorm guitar lessons went on all day from 7am to 1am which was very annoying! The showers in the girls bathrooms just had frosted glass and no locks on doors - just why!?

Liked: I like´d the hostel. It´s honest.. Beds are really good!

Disliked: Only 1 Van for a massive room? During the nights it´s to warm to sleep.. Free wifi does have issues. The keycard doesn´t work on the Cinema after 12? And a issue that i had.. I had a goodnight in the Cbd.. And i wanted to take a girl home.. It´s safe to let nobody in without a keycard.. But it kinda destroyed the night.. And that´s it..

Liked: they cleaned up every day. The shower and bathroom was clean as well.

Disliked: Hostel is way to big, which makes it impersonal. the kitchen is way to small for so many people. you are not allowed to drink alcohol in hostel can only buy it in the bar downstairs, but it's much to expensive down there. Not allowed to bring friends to the hostel. 16dorm smells bad and is way to small for many people. No space to put your backpack anywhere.

Liked: the common lounge and cafe was really funky and had a great vibe. we didnt visit the bar or the rooftop garden. but it looked nice out the lift door. in general it was good. but slight improvements here and there could make it much better. its only 2 small blocks from the city loop tram, and 3 blocks from a big shopping mall. good location. cheap!

Disliked: the walls are paper thin, and we had beyond a joke noisy neighbours, who seemed to think it was ok to arrive home at 1am, SLAM the door, and talk with their phones on speaker so loud it was audible in our room, till 3/4 am EVERY NIGHT, we reported it to reception, and his concern and statement that it would be followed up seemed genuine. besides that all was good, the bathrooms could do with curtains between the shower and dressing sections of the cubicles. and if your tall you'll have to duck to fit under the shower head, but thats normal now i guess. happens everywhere.

Liked: Location was good, lobby area was lively.

Disliked: Unclean, faeces on toilet and floor, was not cleaned throughout stay. Same pile of rubbish and used cotton wool buds in shower for duration of stay. Bathroom floor was disgusting. Building materials and debris outside door to our room. Room was dusty and mouldy food was left in it. If you have ever stayed in a half decent hotel you will be thoroughly unsatisfied staying here.

Liked: Nothing exept the friendly staff and the good breakfast

Disliked: Cleaness (our room was not clean at all) , elevator (always stuck or out of service), very old and smelly carpet everywhere, way too too many people (impossible to use the Wifi or the kitchen because overcrowded)

Liked: The free wifi and the bathrooms were really nice. Muesli Cornflakes and sandwich and more for breakfast. The rooms are very big with lockers and comfortable beds. Keycards must be used for every door. Located very central ALDI supermarket just a few metres away in the same street.

Disliked: Not very social as everybody is sitting alone and the doorms are huge so the people are not talking to each other. But for the value of money its absolutel worth a visit.

Liked: The bathroom was big and clean instead of other hostels i have seen. The lounge downstairs was nice with a coffee bar and very comfortable seats. During the night it was quiet. Free Internet access!!!

Disliked: The beds where very uncomfortable! It was not a matress it was a gummy matress. To hot in the rooms during this season!

Liked: Great location for exploring the city and easy links to public transport. The in house travel store offers some good discounts and advice and the staff at the hostel were really friendly and helpful. There is also a cafe on sight for those times when maybe you just can't be bothered to cook or fancy a coffee.

Disliked: Whilst I was here things kept breaking, the lift for one seemed to break down a couple of times a day - useful when you're staying on one of the higher floors! The wifi was quite slow and unpredictable, though there are an awful lot of people staying here, but still... Also the bathrooms could be a bit grubby at times and the rooms weren't the cleanest.
