Liked: the common area

Liked: Leaving was good. Otherwise, the kitchen facilties were good (plenty of hobs which worked!)

Disliked: The staff didn't give very good impression - I was left waiting for a long time and was ignored on several occasions and was treated rudely at times. The owners / managers gave the impression they had been there way to long and should find a new job! The building and atmosphere was very outdated and old fashioned; there were similarties of Fawlty Towers about the place. The window did not stay open and the room smelt really bad. There weren't enough showers. There was a poor vibe about the hostel.

Liked: The only good thing is that the hostel is close to the beach

Disliked: It was very run down, dirty rooms and smelly, no ac and the window did not open, nasty old beds and pillows which should have been thrown away years ago and just to many things to list.

Disliked: showers were terrible dirty and disgusting :( had to pay AUD10 for them to look after my bags for the day seeming as I had a late flight out.

Disliked: The hostel owner was very rude, unfrienly and unhelpful. The hostel rooms are very crowded and dirty and overpriced.

Liked: Nothing

Disliked: We spent a total of only a couple of hours in the Oslo. After checking in, we headed to the beach came back to the Oslo and had an afternoon siesta. When waking up myself and my partner were covered in bugs, little red bugs full of blood. When reporting this to reception they did not even check, they simply stated they would give a full refund, no further compensation was offered.

Liked: the open backgrounds where you can enjoy your meal nice location near the beach, gigantic television, reletively cheap internet. great kitchen equipmen but no oven. nice bathrooms

Disliked: the fact that the staff is only availible from 10 am till 10 pm a lot of stressing poeple before that for checkout (key deposi) and after 10 pm poeple that are looking for a place to stay is sometimes anoying. when the staff is there most of the time they are quit hectic when they are busy. the staf counts a extra rounded amount on the 5% creditcard use. the fact that the upper bunkbed doesnt have a ladder.

Liked: Great location, 5min walk from the beach and plenty of bars/restaurants in the area. Front gate is locked at night so feels very safe. Bathrooms were very clean and well maintained, shame that the rest of the hostel was not upto this standard.

Disliked: Front desk guy (Tony?) was very rude on check in. An all round in your face blunt guy. Started the experience off badly for this hostel.

Liked: Felt very secure (the outside gate is locked at night as well as the front door of the building and the rooms). There is only one shower per bathroom, so you don't have to shower with others hanging around like in most hostels around Europe... it's almost like you've got an ensuite (just have to time it right otherwise you could be in for a wait!).

Disliked: The mosquitoes! I was eaten alive here! Also you cannot bring any outside visitors into the building, good in some ways but it doesn't feel all that welcoming when you can't even have a mate hang out with you in the common areas... The bed was pretty old and didn't feel all that supportive.

Disliked: This is extremely old building with mysterious atmosphere inside. It has dark, feeling-wet, smelly long corridor that makes you feel like in any typical horror movie.

Liked: I read some horror reviews after I had already paid for a deposit and was very sceptical about staying here. Pretty much a decent enough backpackers at a reasonable price in st kilda. Older building , maybe not the cleanest but I was happy enough with it , and met some great people too.

Disliked: James left no negative feedback.
