We are a funky little award winning hostel with a great atmosphere and welcoming staff and are the only backpackers around with an in-house bar and late reception.

Welcome to The Pickled Frog Backpackers!

We are located in the heart of beautiful Hobart and are perfectly placed for you to explore all the city has to offer. We are only a 5 minute stroll to Salamanca Place, Hobart’s Waterfront and the Town Center.

The hostel has been recently refurbished, without losing any of the relaxed atmosphere or old building charm we've become famous for.

Our aim at The Pickled Frog is to provide you with an all round fabulous Tasmanian experience. Our local staff are here to book your tours, help with travel advice, entertain you and serve you specially priced Tasmanian beers at the end of a long day.

We have dorm rooms and private rooms available for your stay, along with all the facilities we think you need for a great hostel experience including an nternet café with Wi-Fi, in-house bar, large communal kitchen, comfy lounges, big screen TV, inner spring mattresses and off street car park to name but a few.

Accommodation Information

Here at the pickled frog we have 3, 4, 6 and 8 and 12 share dorms and private/twin/double/single rooms. We also have a dorm for girls only.

We have an in-house bar, open wood fire in winter, friendly staff, wireless internet, cafe, large TV and loads of free DVD’s, pool table, 24 hour access, free foosball and much more!

Location Information

We are located only a few blocks from the heart of the city.

We are only a short stroll to Salamanca and the waterfront. We are in the perfect location for exploring Hobart!
