Liked: There are probably both better and worst places to stay in Hobart. The layout makes it a bit noisy for those staying in many of the rooms downstairs. One faucet and sink in a busy kitchen can get annoying. Also, the front desk was not open around 7:30 when I had a catch a Port Arthur tour - hence, I could not properly check out and I had to take take my stuff with me as there was no one to lock it in the lugage room (I went straight to the airport after the tour).

Liked: I didn't like it at all. Not Clean, No airconditioning and absolutely not a good place to stay if you have to get up early!

Liked: The hostel is located less than 10 mins walk from the centre of Hobart so is easy to get to. Also the Redline airport bus leaves from across the street which is handy for departure. Staff are very friendly (the owners are there all day) and are very helpful. Internet is $4 an hour which is better than a lot of hostels. Unfortunately there is nowhere in the rooms to store your belongings so they become untidy and valuables are at risk. There's a good atmosphere in the evenings as there are lots of seating areas in the day room which incorporates the dining area. Can therefore be noisy at night but it quietened after 11pm so it was ok to sleep once people went to bed. I would stay here again if I return to Hobart.

Liked: Location was close to most places. Beds and pillows were nice. Very friendly staff. Kitchen was horribly unclean. Floors were also dirty. Would give a better rating after a good cleaning. If you stay here...eat out!

Liked: Nice property and would stay again. small supermarket 5 mins away, 15mins for the big supermarket, sea front is 10 minutes. couple of gripes though - hardly anywhere to prepare food in the kitchen, bit concerned about security as no lockers in room.. the door didnt lock unles you did it from the inside (!) and the widow wouldnt lock, TV had to be on quiet after 10pm UNLESS you were the receptionist who wanted to watch a DVD.If your not adverse to a bit of hard work then you can stay for free if you want to clean the rooms at 9.30am every morning... ring up and ask before you book tho.

Liked: We booked a 4 bed dorm and got told there was only a 6 bed left even though we had booked months ago. Then to top it off they let another person take a matress in the room and sleep there. There was no window in the room and it was hotter than hell! Great location but the transit backbackers needs to lift there game big time!

Liked: Nice & roomy in reception & dining area but as high ceilings in part s it makes it very noisy & echos

Liked: Liked its cleanliness, location to the city and the very accommodating staff. Its only downfall was that if you stayed downstairs it was very noisy so you got little sleep.
