About Glasshouse Mountains Ecolodge

Use the Ecolodge as your base to explore Australia Zoo, the Sunshine Coast beaches, the area's national parks and the interesting hinterland villages of Maleny, Montville and Mapleton. There is so much to do you will need a number of days to enjoy it all. And there really is something there for everyone!

Our well equipped kitchen is in a restored railway carriage located to the rear of the church. It has stainless steel sinks, multiple gas burners, two refrigerators, microwave, sandwich press, blender, toaster, electric jug, rice steamer, crockery, cutlery, and glasses.

There are dining tables in the carriage and a spacious deck outside.

The adjoining lounge carriage is an ideal area to unwind, read a book, play board games or catch up on what's happening in and around the Ecolodge. The guides for the Ecolodge walks are kept there for use by guests.

Monitor over 60 species of birds which have been spotted at the Ecolodge and identify them using the Birdwatch Guidebook.

Walks of Mt Tibrogargan start 400m from the front gate of the Ecolodge.

Location Information

The Ecolodge is located 70 kilometers north of Brisbane in the hinterland of the Sunshine Coast. We promote soft mobility travel options and will collect guests from the train by prior arrangement.

The remarkable Glasshouse Mountains are a series of steep sided volcanic plugs which dominate the Sunshine Coast Hinterland.

The Ecolodge is situated just 400 meters from the foot of Mt. Tibrogargan which is 364m high. Wander the grounds and find a spot to relax, read or unwind. A self guided tour of the Ecolodge orchard and bush food garden is an ideal way to learn more about the Ecolodge and its values.

Use the Ecolodge as a base while you visit Australia Zoo and other tourist attractions in the area. Let us organise your stay as Keith is an expert having lived in the area for over 25 years and we are booking agents for many different activities and outings including visiting Fraser island, the largest sand island in the world.
