Liked: This is what a hostel should be, great, fun, good value and homely you feel as if you are part of the family. I recommend this place to anybody you wont regret it. Great Mad Monday party $10 some free drinks and food which if you sign up for entitles you for free internet for the whole week, BBQ night Friday all you can eat $4. And the rest of the week get free meal vouchers and a free bus to get the meal. Its just a great place to hang out and meet people. Best hostel I have stayed at in 5 months of travel. Thanks to all the staff at Asylum.

Liked: amazing place!!!!! stayed there between 29th jan and 7th of feb. stayed in a twin and then in a double with my girlfriend... ask for aircon rooms as it can b quite hot at nights. staff r amazing and very welcoming. they pick u up from the airport and then sit u down and talk u through all the facilities that they offer; $4 BBQ on Friday!!!! all u can eat!!!! fresh from the butchers especially prepared by annie.... sausages, chicken, lamb and stake... cooked to ur preference.... they will also take u to the bottle shop a couple hours before for some cheap booze!!! most of the staff that r there will join u and have a great time... MAD MONDAY........ near enough a must if u there for that time.... they do offer free internet but thats only on one of the computers... if u go on mad monday u can use any computer for until saturday before the new mad monday!!! that was 10 days of free net for me!!!! u also get a free drink in every place u go on the night out... every thing is filmed and photographed, oh and hot dog voucher for dinner and only cost $1 more for each extra.... free pizza place in last place.... absolutelly wicked night out!!!!!!!10% on all tours u book through them and they will find u the cheapest deal in and around town... i am sorry to leave this place thanks too all the staff here; (try and remember all bt wnt... annie, erica, jeremy etc....) had and amazing time, take care chris and nicola

Liked: The Staff: Annie, Jeremy and Bobo (fuckn Bobo) are amazing here, Annie is like a 2nd mumMad Monday is the big that this place is known for so i cant wait to experience it and not to mention the $4 BBQ they have set up on friday nights.10min Walk from everything, Everything in Cairns is Walking Distance.Hostel really is this old mad crazy Hostel that has plenty of space - Kitchen, Free Internet, Pool, Free Tv, Free MoviesTheres lots of social areas so its easy to do you own thing or hang out with a friend from the hostel. They provide cereal in the movie and give you a free meal voucher at night (basic spaghetti/chilli con carn)

Liked: The meal voucher provided by the hostel is not worthy at all. This voucher allow only a plate of rice with some sauce and no drink. However, the Friday night BBQ party in the hostel was awesome. The location is good and safe, however the hostel require some cleaning operation. The stuffs are very helpful and friendly.

Liked: This is a true backpackers hostel. I love it. Cheap and good value for money. It is an old hostel but I got good and friendly service which the other modern and expensive hostels are not able to provide. I am treated like part of the family here. I love Asylum.
