Liked: The property was perfect for Cairns. Had an open air area with a pool table, a barbie, and a pool. Benches and hammocks to relax, and a kitchen well equipped to cook bomb food. The property made you really feel like you were in the tropics of Cairns with a real relaxed, cultural and social vibe.

Liked: Great Hostel. Staff we extremely friendly and helpful. We stayed in a private double for a very reasonable price and it was the best room ive experienced in a hostel. Stay here if your going to Cairns!

Disliked: aircon wasn't included - there was one in the room, but we needed coins to start it

Liked: It was peaceful and at the same time you can meet easily some people. The room were really nice and colourful.

Liked: Really good location, straight over road from shopping centre.

Disliked: Room not very clean - under the bed and behind the shelf was thick with dust. Also was crawling with ants - we had a lizard in our room one night and a giant cockroach in the next. Staff were helpful but weird.

Liked: Good environment, lovely place, feeling like home

Disliked: Reception is not 24 hours; Bedbugs disasters! no hot water to wash clothes, although with a hot dryer. Hope wont bring the bedbugs to other places! They should change the mattresses and the whole bed, cleaning need to be done more often and more professionally.

Liked: Excellent! What most highlights of this hostel is staff work and friendly attention. They gave us honest recommendation about what things we could do in QSL and all the excursions we arrengerd with them were excellent value for money. Staff is continuosly cleaning. Would highly recommend it.

Liked: I liked everything about this place, it had a great atmosphere, Chris and Ashley (staff) where knowledgeable, helpful and friendly. The rooms were great, everything was clean and there were plenty of toilets and showers to be able to use. Will definately stay here next time I come back to Cairns.

Disliked: Nothing, it almost felt like a home away from home.

Liked: Very relaxed atmosphere. Wednesday night BBQ was very fun and a great chance to meet people.

Liked: Staff very helpful, nice and chilled place. I actually ended up staying about 5 nights even though I'd only booked for 1!

Disliked: The walk into town was 5 minutes - not far at all!

Liked: It's a spacious property on the quiet side of town about 15 minutes walk from the main square. Lots of outdoor space. Our double room was fairly large and the bed was comfortable. Staff thoroughly cleaned the shared bathrooms every day.

Disliked: The kitchen in the section we stayed in was in bad need of replacing. The toaster was melted; the stove was so old all the markings were rubbed off; the microwave was also old and took forever to heat up a meal; the pots & pans were falling apart, etc. While they advertise free shuttle service to the reef terminal for your GBR trips, this is only provided 1) if you book your tour through them & 2) if they have enough space in their 6-seater van. It took us about 20-25 minutes to walk. No free wifi.

Liked: Nicely decorated environment, also clean, but (unlike Globetrotters that we also stayed at) washing machines could only be used during restrictive hours, there was no tv and also internet and air conditioning was charged for per hour.

Liked: nice hostel, a bit of a walk to the center of Cairns, but manageable because you can go through the very close by shopping mall. The mall has everything you might need which is a plus. the staff was very helpful with booking trips and giving tips on local restaurants, bars etc. overall good!

Liked: I was looking for a rest from the party hopping hostels and this is definite the place! it's quiet and a nice place to hang out without yelling for nothing all the time!

Liked: good and clean. no lockers (but thats the norm in australia!) good place to meet people even if you're solo traveler. note that it is a bit off the center but that could be good or bad depending on what u like. it's quieter but then it'll take u 20 mins to walk to the bus station or $10 cab ride cos they don't give u a courtesy drop off.
