Reef Backpackers is a unique central Cairns hostel with free Linen, weekly BBQ’s, 24hr access, laundry and drying facilities, TV lounge, all housed in a fantastic Queenslander style building with a pool and a great backyard.

In the heart of the town, you'll find a real hostel and not one of those Flashpackers that call themselves 'hostels'.

Meet real people that enjoy travelling and having fun. Here all things are considered and there are no surprises- our prices include everything.

We provide fresh linen to all guests and tea and coffee are served all day. The reviews from our guests say everything, so we don't have much more to talk about.

The only rules we have are: to not make any noise after 11 p.m. so we can let our guests relax in peace, to have fun and enjoy your time here.

We are close to everything and its all walking distance. The lagoon the bars and the shopping centre.

Cheap accommodation in Cairns shouldn't compromise on comfort. The city is a busy and hectic place so it's important for us at Reef Backpackers Cairns to do as much as possible to ensure our guests can get a comfortable night sleep.

You will find the Reef Backpackers amazingly quiet for being located in the centre of Cairns but at the same time, for the ones who want to enjoy Cairns nightlife, you will find restaurants, bars, clubs and the best spots in town within a few minutes walking distance.

Accommodation Information

The Reef Backpackers is a rather small Hostel and can welcome 80 guests. Our well-maintained dormitory rooms with just 2 to 9 beds makes a very familiar and friendly environment. All rooms are air conditioned and have lockers for your valuables. All bed linen is provided free of charge. Here you will find a comfortable lounge area with a TV for the ones that want a little relaxation and to meet people from all over the world.

Location Information

We have a great location and are close to everything (walking distance), however we are far enough away for guests to be able to enjoy a good nights sleep.

We are located in Grafton Street in the heart of the city center, between Aplin and Florence Street , three blocks down from the esplanade and 5 minutes walk from all the restaurants pubs, bars, shops etc.
