Liked: Great staff, especially helpful when booking tours. Plenty of communal areas. Small dormswith proper beds rather than bunks.

Disliked: No lockers in rooms. No breakfast provided. Had to pay for internet and wifi.

Liked: The staff at Travellers Oasis are lovely, especially John at reception...such a decent guy. The rooms were clean and spacious (we stayed in a twin and 4 bed dorm), the shower rooms and toilets were good as was the kitchen. It's in a nice location, just behind the mall and about 5 minutes walk from the bars etc. I would recommend you stay here when in Cairns.

Disliked: There were no bins in the rooms and that's only because i'm trying to find a fault.

Liked: Location was within walking distance to all central areas. Staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Rooms and common areas very clean. Nice pool area and good kitchen facilities.

Liked: Really charming property with lots of social space. Staff are excellent, very friendly and helpful. A 10 minute walk into town but well worth the extra little distance.

Liked: Great location, just behind the Cairns Shopping center. A great pool, nice way to get out of the humidity. A very helpful staff that can assist you in booking any number of tours or other services in the area.

Disliked: Wish the internet was free, but such is life... Hostel bookers also don't get the free airport shuttle unless they are already in the area. Careful if you read about the free airport shuttle online or in a guide book. Thanks, nice hostel!

Liked: The pool is great, also awesome kitchen facilities. My private double had a mini-fridge in it, that was a great help.

Disliked: The A/C in the rooms was $1 for three hours. I thought it was rough to pay for A/C but at least the value was reasonable for a dollar.

Liked: This has been my best hostel experience to date. The staff (John and Helen) are amazingly helpful and really go out of their way to ensure that you stay at Travellers Oasis and in Cairns is enjoyable. They offer really good info on trips to do in and around Cairns and book everything for you. All the suggestions they made (I did a Cape Trib, Kuranda and two sailing trips) were spot on and exactly what I wanted. The hostel itself really is a little oasis in Cairns and I love the decor here. The best place to stay in Cairns if you are looking for somewhere away from the party atmosphere to chill and relax.

Liked: We spent two lovely nights in Traveller Oasis. The room was very clean, freshly renovated. Hotel interior and exterior design was very well done: we took a lot of pictures of the hotel. Last but not least, John was really helpfull finding for us a very good car rental deal at the last minutes and suggesting us what self-driving tour we could do do. His advices were perfect: we really enjoy the tour we did following his advices.

Liked: The personnel of th ehostel were very polite and really wanted everyone to enjoy ones staying in hostel and the tours which they were recommended. They always ask the feedback fron every tour. The took care of everything concerned the living in this part of Australia.

Liked: An excellent hostel with a great atmosphere. These people take care of everything. We have never stayed in a better hostel, except the Tropic Days, which is managed by the same owners.

Liked: Very homely, incredilby helpful staff in bookng all the excursions. No bunk beds so the dorms are lovey and comfortable, lots of fridge space. Lovely pool. A wonderful place to stay. Made my holiday extraspecial.

Liked: It has a lovely relaxed feel about it. The rooms are clean and no bunk beds! which is nice. John at reception went out of his way to help book site seeing tours for me whilst I was there which were wonderful. He has a wealth of information and ideas which made my time in Cairns unforgetable in the best possible way. Thank you for making my holiday a dream come true.
