Liked: The thing I noticed at the very first time was how amazing the welcoming was : the staff is so nice, helpful and smiling. The venues are well maintained, there is a free shuttle for the esplanade or the city center. And besides that, the price is very cheap and includes free breakfats ans free dinner. I highly recommend this hostel.

Disliked: The only thing I didn't like was the noise people were making having a party on the friday night, but on the other hand I can't expect a complete silent in a backpacker so fair enough...

Liked: I would give this place higher marks if possible. Everything said by other travelers is true...20+ minute walk to town, but hourly shuttles if you don't want to walk (but the walk is beautiful along the waterfront). Simon and Tracey are amazing. The place is very clean. Kitchen basic, but has what you need and plenty of space. Included breakfast is again, basic but was all I needed. Highly recommended for all travelers, you absolutely cannot go wrong here.

Liked: Very chill. They picked us up from the airport for free which was cool and its a quiet hostel which was exactly what I wanted.

Disliked: AC doesn't come with the rooms, its extra, and the front desk isn't open 24 hours

Liked: the hostel was very nice ! nerly every day, the whole hostel go out and have fun. that was very good due to you get to know a lot of new people !

Liked: The staff were incredibly helpful and couldn't do enough for you. Really great shuttle service, which made up for the location being a bit out of the centre. Free breakfast and all day tea available. Internet a good price if you are staying for a couple of days or more.

Disliked: The rooms were really hot.

Liked: Very chilled atmosphere, free BBQ, Emily on reception alway happy to help. free airport pick up. Tea and coffee all day. You are able to sleep or hang as the social areas away from most dorms. I had a really nice time at JJs.

Disliked: Like most auzzy hostels no FREE wifi BUT one of the cheapest if your staying for more than a few days (one off charge applies)

Liked: a really nice and small hostel in cairns. i felt so welcome and home there! i't s not directly in town but there is a shuttle driving the whole day. the free meals in the evenings are okay and you can do a cheap upgrade. i would highly recommend this hostel to people who want to have a nice and quiet stay.

Disliked: the only thing that they can change is some of the kitchen equipment like frying pans.

Liked: FANTASTIC from the pick up from the airport to the FREE breakfast AND FREE dinner at the Woolshed. Great people, great night. Wish i could have stayed longer! Tracy was so friendly and helpful and the rooms are clean & tidy. FAB - GO!

Liked: Felt very safe, fairly small and tenants seemed to stay for more than one or two nights, never had a problem getting into the bathroom even though the toilet and shower is in the same room (no-one can use the toilet if you're in the shower), very clean, really friendly and helpful staff, and the free shuttle to and from town was great.

Disliked: They did have a bit of an ant problem when I was there, but that's hard to help when there's people leaving food about. Just make sure you either keep everything in the fridge or else package it well (like 2 or 3 ziploc bags) as I had some food, in a ziploc bag, crawling with tiny ants in less than 2 hours. The free brekkie and dinner aren't amazing, (toast and cereal for breakfast, cafeteria-style pasta for dinner) but hey, they're free!

Liked: JJ's was amazing in customer servic, friendliness and cleanliness - top 10 in my book! The location is a bit outside but in walking distance of the city centre via a beautiful esplanade which means that there's relative peace and quiet in the evenings and not too much (drunken) noice. 2 min. walk to the nearest baker, deli, shop and the best pizza, I've had in Australia!

Disliked: Nothing to dislike.

Liked: It was very quiet, the people were super friendly and helpful with information about the attractions in the area and how to reach them.

Disliked: It was a little ways walk away from the center of town, but at least they do have a free bus to take you to the center of town, so its not so bad.

Liked: well what was there not to like about this place i cried when i left it was that nice. The people The place the rooms were clean the toilets and shower rooms got cleaned everyday the shuttle bus into town was brilliant everything about this place was amazing i loved it so helpfull hand we had a bbq and quiz night on my last night thank you guys good bantter cud sleep on a night wot more cud u want lol thank you for a lovely stay at this hostle i loved every minuet Yorkshire girl Toni

Liked: Handy to waterfront and town. Excellent shuttle service. Extremely friendly and helpful staff.

Disliked: No handbasin in the toilet so unable to wash hands if shower being used.

Liked: I was so imprressed with the welcome note and the clown..... I really appreciated the welcome for arriving late and the email instructions. My stay was perfect and a great location. Loved the chatter of the young people throughout the night. I slept extremely well. I will stay again and recommend your JJ's to all of my friends in NZ. Keep up the great hospitality.

Liked: Loved the owner, Tracey! She was really really helpful and very sweet. The hostel is really clean and the kitchens is well stocked and clean. There was a BBq the night I was there which made it really easy to meet people. Overall just a great great hostel.

Disliked: It would have been nice to have some soap in the bathroom. Other than that, nothing.

Liked: The owner Tracy, was very helpful and nice.

Disliked: It was a bit shabby. Painted in horrible colours on concrete walls. The floors were old and shabby.
